                                            What is IFT Therapy?
It uses medium-frequency electrical currents (around 4,000 Hz) that interfere with each other.
When two slightly different frequencies cross inside the body, they create a low-frequency therapeutic current that penetrates deeper into tissues.
This current helps in reducing pain, swelling, and muscle spasms.
πΉ Physiological Effects of IFT
β
Pain relief (by stimulating nerve fibers & blocking pain signals β gate control theory).
β
 Improves blood circulation.
β
 Reduces muscle spasm & stiffness.
β
 Decreases swelling and edema.
β
 Promotes healing of tissues.
πΉ Clinical Indications (When to Use)
Chronic and acute pain conditions.
Osteoarthritis / Rheumatoid arthritis.
Low back pain, sciatica, cervical pain.
Frozen shoulder.
Post-fracture stiffness.
Sports injuries (muscle strain, ligament sprain).
πΉ Contraindications (When NOT to Use)
Over pacemakers or cardiac patients.
Over pregnant uterus.
On open wounds / skin infections.
Epileptic patients (precaution).
Areas with impaired sensation.
πΉ Application Method
1. Patient position β relaxed and comfortable.
2. Electrodes β placed on skin around the painful area (usually 4 pads in cross pattern).
3. Frequency setting β adjusted depending on acute (higher frequency) or chronic pain (lower frequency).
4. Duration β typically 10β20 minutes per session.
