From Unable to Walk to Recovery in 4 Days | Failed Treatments, Wrong Surgery & Final Endoscopic Spine Solution | Sudhanshu Story | Dr Ankit Madharia
This is the real and emotional recovery journey of Sudhanshu from Jamui, Bihar, who suffered from severe back-to-leg pain for more than 3 years while continuing his studies.
His condition became so serious that he could not even walk 10 steps properly.
The pain was extreme, especially in the left leg, and slowly his mobility completely reduced.
Sudhanshu tried treatment at many nearby hospitals.
He consulted a neurologist and took medicines continuously for 6 months, but got zero relief.
MRI reports showed three-level spine involvement, but no clear treatment plan was given. Only medicines were continued.
Later, he was referred to a spine surgeon and was told that open surgery with screws was required.
Due to fear of open surgery, he refused and was then advised to visit AIIMS Delhi.
At AIIMS also, after multiple tests and long waiting periods, the same recommendation was given — open surgery, with very long waiting time.
Searching for alternatives, Sudhanshu contacted a Delhi hospital where he was told that endoscopic surgery would cost around ₹6 lakh.
After this, he travelled to Bengaluru, spent nearly ₹70,000 on investigations, and was admitted.
Just one day before surgery, doctors suddenly changed the plan and said they would perform microscopic surgery first, and informed him that recovery chances were only 50%.
After microscopic surgery, instead of improving, his condition became worse.
Earlier, pain was on the right side — after surgery, severe pain shifted to the left leg.
He could not lift his leg, could not walk, could not go to the bathroom alone, and his daily life completely stopped.
