Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic group came into being to fulfill a need to propagate the science of Ayurveda in a way that was relevant in modern times.

Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic group, which is recognized as centre of excellence by Ayush Department, Govt. of India and accredited by NABH & ISO, has successfully leveraged three centuries of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom inherited from Nelliakkattu Illom, an illustrious Namboothiri family known for Ayurvedic Netra Chikilsa and Panchakarma as well. At Sreedhareeyam, treatments are done by referring to the ancient Ayurvedic texts and selecting indigenous herbs in the traditional way to ensure quality and authenticity. The senior Members of Nelliakkattu Mana- Sri N.P Narayanan Namboothiri (Chairman Sreedhareeyam Group) and Dr. N.P.P Namboothiri (Chief Physician & Managing Director Sreedhareeyam Group) from childhood had attained and mastered the essence of Ayurveda and Ayurvedic Ophthalmology from their father Parameshwaran Vaidyan and uncle Trivikraman Vaidyan. Dr. N P P Namboothiri also underwent training at Tripunithura Government Ayurvedic College. Later under the guidance of his Guru and uncle Trivikraman Namboothiri he became skilled in traditional Ayurveda. Now, Sreedhareeyam has more than 30 branches across the globe. Including in most of the major cities in India. Also, Sreedhareeyam group owns a brilliant Ayurvedic medicine research and production wing. Former Kenyan PM Raila Odinga met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wished to open branch of Kerala's Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic eye hospital in his country after his daughter's successful treatment which helped regain her lost vision.

Raila Odinga, who was in Kerala recently, thanked Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre for restoring his daughter's eyesight. Odinga's daughter Rosemary was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2017. She had undergone surgery in Nairobi. But in the post-operative period, Rosemary complained of severe loss of eyesight. As part of treatment, the family took her to South Africa, Israel, Germany and China, and other ailments were addressed, but her eyesight was still not recovered.

In 2019, Rosemary travelled to India and underwent treatment at Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital & Research Centre in Koothattukulam, Kerala. After a month's treatment, she beagn to slowly gain back her vision. She returned to Kenya with the medicines and within 3 months, she could see everything. After a year of continued medical assistance, she could lead a normal life with eyeglasses.

The former Kenya PM said, "We have been impressed by the restoration of our daughter's eyesight after the treatment in Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Centre in Kerala and traditional medicines actually work. I have even discussed this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and told him the spectacular story."

"My daughter got sick about 3 years ago. She had a surgery in Nairobi. In the process of that operation, somehow they interfered with the optic nerve. She was treated in South Africa for 3 months but unfortunately she was not able to recover eyesight. We sent her to Israel again but no improvement showed. Then she came back to Kenya. Then again we sent her to China where she had further surgery again. It didn't help her in improving her sight. Then we sent her to Germany but that also was not successful," said the Kenyan leader.

He continued, "I have suggested to Sreedhareeyam that they should come and set up a branch in Nairobi, Kenya and I am going to work with them to set up this centre. I have told PM Modi that we would be happy to work together. This will be called South-South cooperation to bring this technology to Africa, and use our indigenous plants for therapeutics" he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met former Prime Minister of Kenya Raila Amolo Odinga who was here for his daughter’s medical treatment at a state-of-the-art ayurvedic centre in Kerala.
