Report on Consumer Protection Awareness Program
A Consumer Protection Awareness Program on the theme “उपभोक्ता संरक्षण: अधिकार, कानून और जागरूकता” was organized on 20 March 2026 at the CIET Seminar Hall, Raipur.
The program was jointly conducted by Columbia College of Science and Commerce, Raipur and the Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat, Raipur. The objective of the event was to create awareness among students about consumer rights, relevant laws, and the importance of being an informed consumer.
The session featured eminent speakers including Shri Ashish Agrawal, District President, Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat, Raipur, and Shri Amit Verma, State Secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat.
The program began at 1:30 PM and witnessed active participation from students and faculty members. The speakers emphasized the importance of awareness regarding consumer laws such as the Consumer Protection Act and encouraged students to stand against unfair trade practices.

On March 20, 2026, on the occasion of World Sparrow Day, Columbia College Raipur successfully organized a "Sakora Decoration Competition" under the aegis of the Social Awareness & Extension Committee and Rotaract Club.

The main objective of the competition was to develop environmental awareness among pupil teachers regarding the provision of water for birds, especially sparrows, during the summer season.

The participants were evaluated on the basis of creativity, utility, presentation, and environmental message. The judging panel included Mr. Bhagwat Prasad Yadav (CCSC) and Ms. Rashmi Dewangan (CIET).

As per the judges' decision, Ms. Bhumika Vishwakarma, B.Ed. IV-Semester secured the first position, Ms. Manisha Dhruv, B.Ed. IV-Semester secured the second position, and Ms. Hemlata Yadav, B.Ed. IV-Semester secured the third position.

The programme was successfully conducted bg Dr. Raj Dewangan and Ms. Roshni Verma.
