*"W" Sitting: A Common but Concerning Habit in Children*
W sitting, also known as "frog sitting," is a common position where children sit with their legs bent and feet wide apart, While it may seem harmless, W sitting can lead to:
- *Poor posture and spinal alignment*
- *Weak core and leg muscles*
- *Increased risk of hip and knee problems*
- *Difficulty with balance and coordination*
Encourage your child to sit with their legs straight out or crossed, and engage in activities that promote strong core and leg muscles, such as crawling, squatting, and lunging. If concerns persist, consult with your pediatric orthopedician.
