🍃 From Fruit Carts to Courtyards 🍃
I grew up in the city—but we were lucky.
My father had farmland, and because of that, I got to see mangoes, guavas, and other local fruits growing on trees… not just stacked in markets.
There’s a special kind of joy in watching something ripen on its own branch, in its own time.
But over the years, I’ve noticed how farming is slowly drifting away from people’s everyday lives—especially in urban spaces.
Most children today know fruits only as things picked from supermarket shelves.
The other day, here in Himachal, I saw a lychee tree growing in my own courtyard.
I froze.
Lychee—one of my childhood favourites, which I’d only ever seen on thelas—was now right in front of me, nestled among leaves and sunlight.
And just like a child, I couldn’t stop staring.
It made me wonder—
Will the generations after us ever feel this quiet magic?
Will they know where fruits come from—or just where they’re sold?
✨ May we stay close to the soil, to seasons, and to simple joys.
