U N Mehta Children hospital, Surat in association with SPECT (Surat Pediatric Charitable Trust) needs special appreciation for organising a unique and comprehensive CME on less frequently addressed issue of Spina Bifida on 21/7/24, Sunday

It was one of the most memorable, professionally managed wholesome event with rich academics at core.
Participation of Spina Bifida foundation Mumbai under the leadership of Dr Santosh Karmakar, an internationally acclaimed person in treating children with Spina Bifida was a precious opportunity. To listen to his vast experience and opportunity to interact with him was priceless.

The whole event right from soothing lush green calm campus in the lap of nature, venue, audio visual, compearing, inhouse grown flowers, nutritiously prepared delicious food from organically grown grains, hospitality with flawless management was truly professional with warm touch.

We feel short of words to appreciate the hardwork and whole hearted efforts put in by *Dr Nilesh Tank and Dr Arun Trivedi* for coordinating the event. We are indebted to them.

Visit to U N Mehta Children hospital was memorable and it was amazing to see the international standard facilities.

What does one mean by "Job satisfaction?"

Right sided congenital diaphargmatic hernia with sac (antenataly detected) in 5 months old child.

The child underwent thoracoscopic repair, started Brest feeds after 36 hours, x ray chest after 48 hours showed well expanded lungs with normal diaphargmatic position. ICD removed and discharged on 3rd post operative day. IV antibiotics for 2 days only.

There is nothing new in CDH and it's surgery, yet the mode of surgery (open vs thoracoscopic) curtails stay, drugs (rational use of antibiotics), shortens recovery and thus unnecessary cost!

To remain faithful & sincere to the primary goal (from patient perspective) gives one a sense of "Job satisfaction".
