Periprosthetic fractures are very special type of fracture which required totally different perspective from routine fracture surgeries.

This is a case of 67 years old female of which right hip was replaced 7 years ago. She was ambulating painlessly. Sudden rotation of lower limb while tripping caused long fracture throughout the stem of implant. Patient was examined thoroughly, discussed thoroughly with patient and patient s relatives regarding prognosis of the of the surgery and recovery part. Specially made peri prosthetic femur plate was chosen and specially made screw with cables used.

Within 2 months of the surgery patient is ambulating on her own.

Heel pad avulsion is a very serious injury. If it is not treated in timely manner it will give away, and there is no substitution available for heel pad. Very meticulous and timely surgery will help to save heel pad.
