સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સરની રસી (HPV Vaccine) - એક સુરક્ષિત કવચ
આપણી દીકરીઓ અને મહિલાઓના સ્વાસ્થ્ય માટે સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સર (ગર્ભાશયના મુખનું કેન્સર) એક ગંભીર ચિંતાનો વિષય છે. પરંતુ, સારા સમાચાર એ છે કે આ જીવલેણ રોગને રસી (Vaccine) દ્વારા અટકાવી શકાય છે !

Cervical Cancer (સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સર) શું છે ?

તે મોટે ભાગે હ્યુમન પેપિલોમાવાયરસ (HPV) નામના વાયરસના ચેપને કારણે થાય છે.

ભારતમાં મહિલાઓમાં આ કેન્સરનું પ્રમાણ ખૂબ ઊંચું છે.

રસી શા માટે જરૂરી છે ?

સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સરના 90% થી વધુ કેસ HPV વાયરસને કારણે થાય છે.

આ રસી (HPV Vaccine) તે વાયરસ સામે રક્ષણ આપે છે, જેનાથી કેન્સર થવાનું જોખમ ઘણું ઓછું થઈ જાય છે.

રસી કોણે લેવી જોઈએ ?

સામાન્ય રીતે, 9 થી 14 વર્ષની છોકરીઓ માટે આ રસી સૌથી વધુ અસરકારક છે, કારણ કે તેમને વાયરસનો ચેપ લાગ્યો નથી હોતો.

15 થી 26 વર્ષની યુવતીઓ પણ ડૉક્ટરની સલાહ મુજબ આ રસી લઈ શકે છે.

યાદ રાખો

સર્વાઇકલ કેન્સર નિવારણયોગ્ય છે ! રસીકરણ એ સુરક્ષા તરફનું પ્રથમ પગલું છે.
