The first of its kind in Jharkhand, the career counsellors at UPAY use a comprehensive and scientifically designed ten step program to help students and their parents discover the best career options based on their abilities, interests and resources. Choosing the career path without finding their real strengths is a recipe to remain ordinary. Those who do this are stuck with limited growth in their professional career. Often different societal pressure also forces students to choose certain career where they feel lost and fail to perform. We at UPAY therefore help students understand their interest areas and abilities and along with aspirations of parents, we evaluate and analyse different aspects before designing the career recommendation report. This acts as a basis for taking academic, non-academic and career decisions. Moreover the entire ten step career planning process at UPAY is designed in such a way that students and parents get equal opportunity to participate in the decision making thus making it a very integrated process. HOW WE DO IT
Conducted over two sessions, the scientifically designed ten step career advisory process of UPAY comprise of the following steps:
Orientation: The UPAY team explains the whole career planning process to the parent & the student
Registration: Academic and family details are documented for better understanding of the case
Brain Mapping: Through a set of questions, the interest areas & abilities of the student is discovered
Parent Quiz: The parental expectations and dreams are captured through a questionnaire
Interest Diagram: Student and the career planner interact to identify a few career options
Assessment: A detailed analysis of the responses made by student and parent is undertaken
Career Roadmap: Based on the assessment the UPAY team suggests three careers that the student is best suited for. Career Recommendation Report: The report is a step by step guide on how to pursue the three best career options
Career Counselling: A session to explain the career goals and other success tips
