A recent study has highlighted the potent anticancer effects of sweet potato leaves, with 94% of prostate cancer cells killed in vitro and a 75% reduction in prostate tumor growth observed in mice. Additionally, these super-greens have been found to exhibit anticancer properties against various types of cancer, including breast, lung, colon, stomach, and leukemia. The health benefits of consuming sweet potato leaves are multifaceted, with enhanced immunity, improved blood sugar regulation in mice with type II diabetes, and increased energy levels observed. The bioactive compounds responsible for these effects include polyphenolic antioxidants, such as caffeoylquinic acids, and anticancer peptides. Notably, sweet potato leaves have been found to be highly alkalizing, offering 400% the alkalizing power of pure lemon juice.

The international faculty members of Jivaka Ayurveda University laid the foundation on January 1, 2025, in collaboration with Australia's Acharya Premendrananda Avadhuta, emphasizing the prevention of cruelty to animals and plants, aligned with the Ayush policy. "Before killing birds and animals for food, you must think a hundred times whether you can stay alive without killing them." Not even a branch of a tree is useless - it has feelings of pleasure and pain. We should only cut the branch of a tree when it is absolutely necessary. Just as you have the right to live, so do others. The lives of others are as important to them as your life is to you; the life of another person is as important to them or her as my life is to me. You should keep this idea in your mind when you think of others.
