Parenting is the hardest, most beautiful, and most humbling job in the world.

And if I could go back and whisper something to my past self—the exhausted, overwhelmed, trying-her-best version of me—here’s what I’d say:

1️⃣ Calm is more powerful than control
2️⃣ Behavior is communication, not defiance
3️⃣ Connection builds cooperation—not compliance
4️⃣ Boundaries create safety, not fear
5️⃣ Big emotions don’t need control
6️⃣ Discipline means to teach, not punish

I used to believe my child was pushing my buttons, purposely misbehaving.
But the truth is → behavior is always communication.

Our little people can’t say, “Mum, I’m overwhelmed. I need your help.” So they show us through whining, crying, hitting, or melting down.

And I used to think being a “good parent” meant staying in control.
But parenting isn’t about control — it’s about guidance.

✨ Guidance builds trust.
✨ Trust builds influence.
✨ Influence carries you through toddlerhood, tween years, and beyond.

If I had known these 6 truths sooner, I would have spent less time reacting… and more time guiding ✨

I see so many just walking around like weapons and cutting and burning people around them just because they learnt it from their parent.

Parental trauma is real. Some parents do give a master class to their children on how not to be a good parent.

🌿They never chose to identify their own toxic traits and hence the child/ adult also never learns to.

🌿 They use their anger to show control and the child/adult picks up knowing that it’s a way to expression painful emotions.

🌿 Their love is conditional, based on their own mood and circumstances, so the child/ adult always feels confused with the definition of love and effort.

🌿An unhealed parent teaches that the language of love is control and child/ adult feels in control when they scream and shout

🌿 They themselves don’t know what is a good and respectful way to express themselves and hence the child/ adult feels normal while disrespecting others

🌿 Unhealed parents don’t have real relationships, hence the child / adult never learns what true genuine relationships can bring

🌿 You will often the child say - I will never become like you to their parent - and then for their entire life it’s become a quest to do so - and by doing this they become lost about who they really are and who they really wanna become - a lost soul, faith less, purposeless

🌿 Parents are the first God in the eyes of the child - And if the language of that god is anger, beating, sarcasm, disrespect - the child adult chooses to be faithless

🌿 Because they chose never to heal or change, the child / adult has a much bigger struggle walking down the path of healing

We all need healing - ALL OF US.

And this is how families are broken, mental health issues are born and a good life comes to an end.
