“Tale of an elite NICU graduate”
Journey from 640 grams (28 weeks of gestation) to 1.5 kg in 80 days. Delivered prematurely under unfortunate circumstances, this 28 weeker preterm baby had a stormy course in NICU, the team helped this fighter neonate to tackle the tough challenges of prematurity related complications. The tiny soul that fitted in our palms in early days of life is discharged today in mother’s lap. Happy parents, happy doctors and happy NICU staffs. Got our Doctor’s day gift already 😊😇

Neonatal pneumothorax is a rare but life threatening medical emergency. A 20 hours old, late preterm baby was referred to us as a case of respiratory distress started after birth with multiple episodes of convulsions. necessary investigation were sent right away where CXR showed right sided pneumothorax. 12 Fr size ICD was put immediately and baby was put in mechanical ventilator followed by CPAP for 6 days. The baby is discharged in good health after 7 days of NICU stay.
Glad to inform that we have treated 15 neonatal pneumothorax cases till date.

937 grams, delivered on 20/7/2022, had an eventful journey in our NICU. Finally discharged and handed over to the happy parents today with 1.48 kg weight. Wish you a healthy future, champion !!
