SMH Housekeeping Department Christmas Celebration 2025

Theme: “BORN AGAIN”

Today the Housekeeping Department of Scudder Memorial Hospital gathered with joy and gratitude to celebrate Christmas together. The programme was filled with warmth from beginning to end as the team came together for prayer, songs, dance, Scripture reading, and a meaningful Christmas message. Every item carried the simplicity and sincerity that makes this department so special.

The housekeeping staff presented beautiful dances and a heartfelt skit that brought smiles across the room. Their group songs added a gentle sense of worship and unity, reminding everyone of the true spirit of this season. Scripture was read with devotion, and the Christmas message encouraged every heart to reflect on the invitation to be born again, the theme that continues to shape our celebrations this year.

The atmosphere throughout the programme was full of joy, togetherness, and appreciation. Housekeeping staff are the quiet strength of SMH. They keep our hospital clean, safe, and welcoming every single day, often without recognition or applause. Today was a moment for them to be celebrated, honoured, and uplifted.

As the programme closed in prayer, there was a sense of gratitude for the work they do and the love with which they do it. It was a simple and beautiful Christmas gathering that touched every heart present.

May God bless our Housekeeping family with peace, strength, and renewed joy. May this Christmas fill every heart with the hope of being born again.

A Blessed and Beautiful Christmas Evening at SMH

Theme: “BORN AGAIN”

Tonight, the Scudder Memorial Hospital chapel became a place of joy, worship, and deep thanksgiving as our entire hospital family gathered for the Hospital Christmas Celebration 2025.

From the first prayer to the final blessing, every moment carried the warmth of fellowship and the tenderness of God’s presence.
Carols, multilingual songs, choreo, skits, and heartfelt presentations from our staff, students, doctors, nurses, AHS team, housekeeping staff, and choir filled the chapel with life and meaning.

This year’s theme “BORN AGAIN” echoed through every song and every word.
It reminded us that Christmas is not only the story of a Child born in Bethlehem, but the call for another birth within each of us a new heart, a renewed spirit, and a fresh beginning in Christ.

As we worshipped together, we were reminded once again that:
• God is still working in our midst,
• Hope is still alive in every ward and patient room,
• And His grace continues to shape our mission of healing.

The evening concluded with blessings over our hospital, our patients, and every person who faithfully serves in SMH day and night. It was a celebration that touched hearts, strengthened faith, and brought our family closer. May this Christmas renew our hope. May the message of being “BORN AGAIN” guide our lives.
And may God’s peace fill SMH in the year to come.

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year – 2026.

This evening the doctors of Scudder Memorial Hospital gathered for a truly heartwarming Christmas celebration. The chapel was filled with a gentle spirit of joy, worship, and fellowship as everyone came together as one family. The programme opened with a simple and sincere introduction and prayer, followed by a graceful entrance procession that brought a quiet beauty to the start of the evening. The special Tamil song that followed lifted the atmosphere and reminded us of the hope that Christmas brings.

Throughout the programme there was a wonderful flow of music, dance, worship and creativity. The classical dance added grace and devotion to the evening and the SMH choir shared a special song that carried the message of peace in a tender way. Scripture was read with meaning and the introduction to this year theme BORN AGAIN invited everyone to think deeply about the new life that Christmas offers. Christmas Gospel Sharing at Madras Medical College

We are delighted to share that our Medical Superintendent, Dr. C. Anbu Suresh Rao, ministered at the Madras Medical College Fellowship Christmas Program, where about 250 students gathered to hear the message of hope.

In keeping with this year’s SMH Christmas theme , “Are You Born Again?” (1 Peter 1:23) Heart of the gospel: the meaning of the new birth, the transforming power of Christ, and the deep spiritual need for another birth that only God can give.

Many young medical students listened with sincerity as the message of renewal, purpose, and new beginnings was proclaimed. We prayerfully uphold every student who received the Word today. May the seed sown bear fruit in due season, and may the message of being “Born Again” continue to touch lives and shape future healers.

Women’s Health Camp at SMH – A Blessed Success Inspired by Dr. Ida Scudder

Today’s Women’s Comprehensive Health Camp at Scudder Memorial Hospital went wonderfully well, with many women from our community participating and receiving free screening, consultation, and counselling.

This programme was held in honour of Dr. Ida Scudder’s 155th Birth Anniversary, a woman whose compassion transformed healthcare for women in India. Her legacy continues to guide us as we serve with the same commitment, dignity, and love she showed every patient.

The camp addressed key women’s health needs:

• Uterus-related problems
• Fibroids
• White discharge issues
• Menstrual disorders
• Cervical ulcer
• Pr*****ed uterus
• PCOD
• Hemoglobin and GRBS tests
• Free doctor consultation
• Cervical cancer screening

Our medical team worked with dedication to ensure every woman received personalised care, echoing Dr. Ida Scudder’s belief that “women deserve compassionate, accessible healthcare.”

We thank all participants and every staff member who made this camp meaningful. In continuing Scudder’s mission, SMH remains committed to the health and well-being of every woman in our community.
