Enhance their patient care by achieving yet another milestone.
First time in the history of Konkan,
a life saving procedure - *TAVI* ( *Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation* )* was performed successfully on 4th August 2024

72 year old lady detected with severe aortic valve stenosis was treated and managed at Lotlikar hospital (SRH).

She underwent TAVI by our expert cardiovascular team helmed by

**DrTushar Dhopade* ( *MS,MCh(CVTS)FRCS,FICS )*

**Dr Prashant Vaijyanath*
( *MS,Mch(AIIMS) FACS,FCS* )

The procedure was successfully performed and she was discharged on 7th August 2024 in a stable condition .

TAVI procedure has proven to be a boon for high risk heart patients .
*Advantages of TAVI -*
*Procedure can be done in cath lab
*Under minimal/local sedation
*Minimal incisions on body
*No heart-lung machine required
*Valve is replaced via small cut in groin
