Many of Ayurvedic Cosmetic practices depende on the season (Ritus) and are subtly interwoven with daily routine (Dinacharya). Even Nutricosmetic are present in Ayurveda.

According to Ayurveda, a number of factors determine skin health and youthfulness. These include proper moisture balance (Kapha in balance), effective functioning of the metabolic mechanisms that coordinate all the various chemical and hormonal reactions of the skin (Pitta in balance) and efficient circulation of blood and nutrients to the different layers of the skin (Vata in balance). The health of the following three dhatus (types of body tissue) are especially reflected in the skin: nutritional fluid (Rasa), blood (Rakta) and muscle (Mamsa). Rasa supports all the body tissues, particularly keeping the skin healthy, Rakta, in association with liver function, helps detoxify the skin of toxins, while Mamsa provides firmness to the skin.

Ayurveda contend that clear beautiful skin on the outside happens only when your insides are clean and toxin-free.
Your constitution, digestive system, mental health every thing play important role in Skin Care Regime.

Myths & Facts -
▫️Rajaswala paricharya helps women respond healthily to the drastic physical and psychic changes during the menstrual cycle.Rajaswala Paricharya needs to be seen as therapeutic prescriptions.
Most of the Do’s and Don’ts for a Rajaswala like avoid physical exertion, food regulations, sleeping during day, avoiding s*x etc were designed so that there is absolutely no hindrance to the outflow of the menstrual blood.
▫️About 50 - 80 ml of blood is lost during those 3 days. It obviously takes up some physical strength of the body away. The Rajaswala Paricharya was designed to help female regain the lost strength of the body. All the Physical exertion increase VATA that is already predominant at time pf menses.Well the vitiated VATA can develop numerous number of gynec disorders.
▫️The uterus is shedding blood clearly indicates that there is an active wound inside the body. Hence, the Rajaswala needs utmost care and rest just as a wounded person.

From the Vedic time, onwards darbha is having its importance in rituals. The kusha grass protects the body from the negative energies and from toxic radiations. Even though it is difficult to practice, in present days.

Oil pulling is the ritual of pulling or swishing oil through the teeth for twenty minutes to support overall oral health and hygiene.
In Ayurveda One is Gandush which means holding the oil in your mouth. The other term is Kaval and this means swishing or gargling the oil in the mouth.
Charaka mentions that sesame oil gargling is beneficial for the strength of the jaws, the depth of the voice and flabbiness of the face. It gives excellent sensation and a good taste in the mouth. This gargling prevents dryness of the mouth and throat, cracked lips, tooth caries or toothache or any dental issues.

Sushruta mentions that holding oil or ghee in the mouth removes abnormal taste, foul smell, swelling and stiffness of the mouth. It also provides cheerfulness, firmness of the teeth and a good taste experience of food.

You can use coconut, olive or sesame oil to perform this dinacharya every morning to strengthen gums, whiten teeth, eradicate plaque, rebuild enamel, kills bacteria causing bad breath, helps prevent gingivitis & cavities, reduces inflammation & bleeding gums, draw toxins out of the body, eliminate bad breath and alleviate the symptoms of TMJ.

A healthy way to start the day-
🥛Usha Paana refers to the drinking of luke warm water in the early morning. Usha means rising of the sun early in the morning and paan means to drink.
▫️The amount of water varies person-to-person. It depends on how much water you can hold in 8 Anjali. 8 Anjali means the amount of water that you can measure 8 times in the concavity formed by adjoining both hands.
Water, when consumed, does not stimulate the digestive process and most of the time it is not digested, it is only detoxified. Most of the detoxification happens in the liver after water absorption.
▫️Ayurvedic classical texts it is mentioned to drink a glass or two of luke warm water preferably from a copper vessel.
▫️The logic behind taking this water (copper water) is to flush out the collected waste material in your large intestine and to cleanse your entire digestive system. This washes the GI Tract, flushes the kidneys and stimulates peristalsis. The tendency of the Tamra Jal (water kept in the copper vessel) is to kill the bacteria, virus and microorganisms of the water and to purify it. .As a result, diseases like constipation, hyperacidity and dyspepsia are treated or prevented.
▫️Ushapan helps in getting rid of disorders like
headaches, piles, blood pressure, anemia, obesity, liver problems, gastritis, etc.

It is a good idea to start the day with Usha Paana instead of tea or coffee which can be habit forming.
