Hanumanasana, or Monkey Pose, is often associated with backbending through variations that open the chest and shoulders while maintaining the split. A full split backbend, also known as Kroukachasana B, incorporates elements of Hanumanasana, external hip rotation, and a backbend, resembling a cobra pose. To achieve this, one leg is extended forward, the other back, and the upper body arches back, with the hands potentially reaching for the ankles.
