Scalp Avulsion Injury……

Scalp have vascular layer which carries high flow vessels (artery & veins)

Scalp injury can leads to severe blood loss & even hemorrhagic shock & death in Pediatric patients.

Simple lacerations or injuries should be repaired after NCCT head ( to rule out head injuries) but in case of severe scalp bleeding- bleeding should be controlled first.

Few days back a person comes emergency- his mother fell down in washroom after loosing her consciousness. They immediately gave water & bring her to emergency. Unfortunately she was dead.

This was not first time I have seen, giving water to unconscious person, we learn from movie or serials, no one taught us.

According to mythology, if person drink water immediately before death they will go to heaven. Which I am not sure .

But I am sure giving water to unconscious person is always before death.

Machine cut Injuries- In accidentally self inflicted injuries are not rare.
Common at work place or at home.

It’s like Driving- people learn how to run but don’t aware of how to use safely.

About patient got injury from Foddar cutting machine - chopped off his lateral thigh.

Which was devitalised completely- dead skin removed, leaving behind large wound.

Bilateral Subcutaneous flap raised & tension free skin closed with Interrupted sutures ( monofilament non-absorbable) under Negative pressure.
