The cementing process in orthopedic procedures like knee arthroplasty typically involves these three main phases:

1. Working Phase
- After mixing, the cement is in a dough-like state and can be applied to the bone or implant. This phase lasts only a few minutes, during which the cement remains malleable and can be pressurized into the bone.

2. Setting Phase
- The cement starts to harden as it undergoes a chemical reaction. During this phase, the prosthetic components are held in place to ensure proper positioning. The setting phase is crucial for ensuring the cement stabilizes the implant.

3. Curing Phase
- The cement fully hardens and bonds the implant to the bone. This phase is critical for achieving long-term stability and support for the prosthetic joint.
