100 Days TB Screening Camp (Nikshay Shivir) & Ayushman Aarogya Shivir

As part of the 100 Days TB Screening Campaign (Nikshay Shivir) and Ayushman Aarogya Shivir, a health camp was successfully conducted by the Rongli PHC team at Chagaylakha, Ward No. 2.

The objective of the camp was to promote early detection of Tuberculosis (TB), provide comprehensive health screening services, and raise awareness regarding TB prevention and treatment.

Activities Conducted:

1. TB Screening – Nikshay Shivir
* Screening of individuals for signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis.
* Chest X-ray screening for suspected TB cases.
* Cy-TB testing conducted for eligible beneficiaries.
2. NCD Screening
* Screening for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.
* Measurement of blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
3. General Health Check-up
* Comprehensive health assessment and consultation for community members.
* Identification and referral of individuals requiring further medical evaluation.
4. IEC Activities
* Information, Education and Communication (IEC) session on TB symptoms, modes of transmission, prevention, and treatment.
* Community members were encouraged to seek early diagnosis and complete treatment to prevent the spread of TB.

The camp witnessed active participation from the local community and contributed to strengthening public awareness and access to essential healthcare services.

The one-day sensitization and training program for ASHA workers by Siliguri Greater Lions Eye Hospital was successfully held at the HWC-PHC in Rongli. The main objective of this programme is to aware and strengthening community-level eye care, the training upskilled ASHA workers from the Rongli and Rhenock areas to identify and refer eye conditions quickly.
The program focused on three key areas of community eye care:
• Early Identification: Training ASHA workers to recognize basic eye diseases, signs of cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Referral Pathways: Establishing a clear, efficient mechanism to guide patients from rural areas to nearby vision centers, Community Health Centres, or the base hospital in Siliguri.
• Community Awareness: Equipping health workers with the skills to run eye health campaigns for both the elderly and children.

A 100 Days TB Screening Camp under Nikshay Shivir and Ayushman Arogya Shivir was successfully conducted on 28/05/2026 at L. Dalapchand by the HWC-Rongli-PHC team. The programme was organized with the objective of early detection of Tuberculosis (TB), strengthening community health services, and promoting preventive healthcare awareness among the public.

The following activities and services were carried out during the camp:

1. TB screening and identification of presumptive TB cases
2. Sputum sample collection and TB testing
3. Chest X-ray screening for suspected TB patients
4. Blood Pressure (BP) monitoring
5. Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing
6. Height and weight assessment
7. Screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
8. Counselling on TB awareness, nutrition, personal hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices
9. Referral of patients requiring further evaluation and management

The camp witnessed active participation from the local community. Health education and awareness sessions were also conducted to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis, regular treatment adherence, and preventive measures for TB and other health conditions. The programme was carried out successfully with the support and cooperation of all healthcare staff and community members.

Nikshay Shivir and Ayushman Aarogya Shivir were conducted by the Subhaneydara HWC team in collaboration with Rongli PHC team and Mobile Village Clinic as part of the 100 Days TB Screening Campaign. The programme aimed to promote early detection of Tuberculosis, provide essential healthcare services, and create awareness among the community.

Activities Conducted:

1. TB Screening – Nikshay Shivir X-ray screening and CyTB testing were conducted for early identification of TB cases.
2. NCD Screening – Screening for hypertension, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases was carried out.
3. General Health Check-up – Basic health assessment and consultation services were provided to the beneficiaries.
4. IEC Activities – Awareness sessions on TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment were conducted among the public.

Nikshay Shivir and Ayushman Aarogya Shivir were conducted by the Rongli PHC team at Mandir Dara under the 100 Days TB Screening Campaign to strengthen community healthcare services and promote early disease detection.

Programmes Conducted:

1. NCD Programme – Screening and awareness activities related to non-communicable diseases were conducted.
2. TB Screening Programme – TB symptom screening and awareness regarding early diagnosis and treatment were provided.
3. VHND Programme – Village Health and Nutrition Day activities including maternal and child health services, nutrition counselling, and health education were carried out successfully.

A review visit was conducted at HWC–Rongli PHC by the district team of UWIN to assess the implementation and progress of the UWIN programme. During the visit, the DRCHO, who is also serving as the DNO–NCD, carried out a detailed review of the NCD programme activities and performance indicators.

In coordination with the MLHPs, the team thoroughly reviewed the NCD data records, reporting status, and programme documentation. Discussions were held regarding troubleshooting of technical and operational issues, data accuracy, timely reporting, and challenges faced during programme implementation.

The district team also delivered a comprehensive presentation on UWIN and NCD services, covering important aspects such as beneficiary management, data entry and validation, reporting protocols, service delivery standards, and recent programme updates. Constructive feedback, guidance, and recommendations were provided to strengthen programme implementation and improve the overall quality of healthcare services.

The review session was informative and productive, and the programme was successfully conducted.

An Ayushman Arogya Shivir (Health Mela) was successfully conducted at HWC-PHC Rongli with the active support and coordination of all staff members.

Various activities were carried out during the camp including general health checkups, laboratory tests and immunisation. Health screenings such as blood pressure (BP), random blood sugar (RBS), height and weight measurements were conducted.

Health counselling was provided on topics including nutritional diet,oral hygiene and the 5As and 5Rs approach to to***co cessation. In addition,counselling on mental and physical health was also delivered.

Overall,the Ayushman Arogya shivir (Health Mela) was successfully conducted with good participation and a positive response from the attendees.

An NCD programme was successfully conducted at Sungdung ICDS by the NCD team with the participation of nearby residents of Sungdung. During the programme, screening for blood pressure (BP), random blood sugar (RBS), and breast examination was carried out for the beneficiaries.

ABHA ID creation was also done for the beneficiaries. A yoga session was conducted to promote healthy lifestyle practices, and counselling regarding non-communicable diseases (NCDs), health awareness, and preventive measures was provided to the participants.

The programme was conducted successfully with active participation from the community.

The skit aimed to sensitize the community about the harmful effects of substance abuse, educate individuals on prevention strategies, and emphasize the importance of rehabilitation and support systems for those affected. The initiative also encouraged the adoption of a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
