Mohd.Sadik a young patient from Swar , Rampur diagnosed with Tongue cancer which was locally advanced on presentation. Pet scan was done which showed no metastases elsewhere in body. Our cancer specialist Dr Y.S.Bhakuni planned him for 3 cycles neoadjuvant chemotherapy which he tolerated well. Post chemo his disease decreased in size and extent and then he was planned for surgery. He underwent Hemiglossectomy ( in which his about 60% of Tongue was removed with disease) and with plastic reconstruction his half of tongue was made done by Dr. Y.S.Bhakuni. Patient was discharged healthy. He is able to speak and eat properly. If treated with proper protocols such advanced cancer can also be cured with proper restoration of functions.

Case of Malignant Phyllodes Tumor

Patient from Haldwani came with complaint of neglected Breast Mass since 1 year which on biopsy diagnosed to be Malignant Phyllodes Tumor. Patient was in agony since then . She consulted our specialist Dr Y.S.Bhakuni, Consultant Oncosurgeon. She was counselled and decision taken for surgery. She underwent Mastectomy with axillary nodal sampling with LD Flap Breast reconstruction in same sitting by Dr Bhakuni. Patient was discharged well and she is living a happy life now. Phyllodes tumor are locally aggressive tumor which in some cases can turn out to be malignant. Treatment is surgical resection of tumor and if needed plastic reconstruction is done as in this case.
