RED or PINK Eye? Here are some Eye Conditions you must know about so that you do not have to suffer!
⁃ Stye: Painful - Red - Tender bump pn the edge of the eyelid that is caused by a bacterial infection of an oil gland
⁃ Blepharitis - Eye condition that causes inflammation of the eyelids
⁃ Keratitis - Inflammation of the cornea caused by some insults to the cornea
⁃ Iritis - Inflammation to the front part of the eye that causes redness, pain and sensitivity to light.
⁃ Acute Angle Closure Glaucoma - A medical emergency that occurs when the iris blocks the trabecular meshwork leading to a lot of pain and redness in the eye
⁃ Dry Eyes - A number of reasons that lead to the eye not produce enough tears which leads to increased friction in the eye causing redness and severe discomfort
⁃ Episcleritis - Unilateral or bilateral inflammation of the episclera that causes redness and discomfort in the eye.
⁃ Scleritis - severe ocular inflammation that affects the outer covering of the eye causing a lot of pain, redness with headache.
⁃ Sub Conjunctival Haemorrhage - A broken blood vessel in the eye that causes a bright red spot
⁃ Foreign Body - Any object that goes into the eye that causes discomfort, redness. If not treated immediately, could lead to a scar in the eye that would lead to decrease in vision.
