Several modes of operation in an anesthesia workstation-
.Manual mode: In this mode, the anesthesiologist manually adjusts the flow of oxygen and other gases to the patient.
.Semi-closed mode: In this mode, the anesthesia machine uses a system of valves and scavenging devices to regulate the flow of gases and prevent waste gases from entering the environment.
.Closed mode: In this mode, the anesthesia machine uses a ventilator to regulate the flow of gases and control the patient's breathing. The machine also includes a breathing circuit that is closed, meaning that all gases are recirculated and none are released into the environment.
.Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) mode: In this mode, the anesthesiologist administers anesthesia through an intravenous (IV) line, without the use of inhaled gases.
.Nitrous oxide (N2O) mode: In this mode, nitrous oxide is used as the sole anesthetic agent or as a supplement to other anesthetic agents.
