Janmashtami is the sacred celebration of Lord Krishnaโs divine birth. On this day, devotees keep fasts, chant mantras, sing bhajans, and offer prayers at midnight โ the exact time of His appearance. The puja begins with bathing the idol of Krishna with panchamrit (milk, curd, honey, ghee, and sugar), adorning Him with new clothes, jewels, and flowers. Devotees offer fruits, butter, sweets, and tulsi leaves, as these are most dear to Him. Fasting till midnight symbolizes purity of body and mind, while chanting Krishnaโs name fills the heart with love and devotion. Beyond Janmashtami, one can worship Krishna daily by lighting a lamp, offering tulsi and butter, chanting the Maha Mantra, or simply remembering Him with a pure heart. For Krishna, true devotion is more precious than any grand ritual.โ
