There’s about a 99.8% chance I’ll grab my phone if it’s within reach.

My squirrel brain loves it.
My gut? Not so much.

Here’s why:

How you eat is just as important as what you eat.

Digestion is a north-to-south process—an internal assembly line where each stage depends on the one before it. And it all starts with your brain.

Did you know that up to 30% of your stomach acid is produced before you even take a bite?

Your brain tells your nervous system to power up digestion. But if you’re distracted—scrolling, watching, multitasking—your brain stays in stress mode, not digestion mode.

That means:
• Less stomach acid production
• Faster eating
• Poor chewing
• Missed fullness cues

All of which can add up to bloating, discomfort, and sluggish digestion.

So if you’ve been eating with your phone in hand and wondering why your gut feels off… it might be time to give your brain the same screen break you’re giving your belly.

Today was one of those days where my body just didn’t feel up to it — but I showed up anyway.
Not because I felt like it, but because I knew I’d feel worse if I didn’t.

It’s rare that I’m not in the mood to move, but today was that kind of day. So I chose a light workout, keeping in mind that the weekend might not offer the chance.

I didn’t go all out, but I showed up. And that’s what counts. 💪✨

When you’re not sure where to start, don’t stress about what to cut—focus on what you can add.

One habit at a time. One small, sustainable change that actually sticks.

Over time, those little upgrades add up—and suddenly, you’re eating better without ever feeling like you’re “on a diet.”

This week, I’m adding: more color to my plate. Leafy greens, vibrant veggies, fresh berries—simple, nourishing, and satisfying.

What’s one thing you’ll add to your meals this week? Drop it in the comments!

Every time a new ultra-processed, plant-based food product is introduced to the market, my heart sinks a little.

Especially when it’s targeted at kids.

As parents, we want to give our kids a nutritional head-start. But by replacing whole food, animal-source products with plant-based sludge, we’re doing just the opposite.

Always read the ingredients as most of them are full of industrially produced seed oils, emulsifiers, and a laundry list of synthetic additives. These substances are not meant to be consumed in large amounts by human bodies. Growing kids need bioavailable protein, vitamins and minerals, not metabolic toxins like excessive omega-6 fatty acids or gut-damaging compounds like carrageenan.
If choosing a vegan diet / lifestyle - stick to natural ingredients and avoid consuming processed vegan food items.

Have you noticed a slight increase in your weight during the festive season? It is very common as we tend to consume high calorie foods as well as salty snacks (remember salt retains water so a lot of it is attributed to water weight gain as well)
Follow the tips mentioned to get rid of the excess festive weight. Adding high fiber foods and protein in every meal will ensure you stay fuller for longer and avoid the excessive snacking you may have been used to doing in the past week (I’m guilty of this myself 🙋🏻‍♀️)

A practice i’ve recently started - using the coffee powder remains from making filter coffee as a face and body scrub.
The filter remains are commonly discarded into house plants in homes (usually south indian) where fresh filter is made daily!
I remember seeing ads of scrubs and it got me thinking of how i can use our very own filter coffee powder instead of paying for one. I have been using it regularly as a body scrub 2-3 times a week and a face scrub once a week, and it definitely goes a great job at exfoliating the dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling so soft and plump.
Caffiene is also known to stimulate circulation and tighten skin, which is why after dry brushing my skin, i apply the scrub and leave it on for 5-7 mins before washing it away. Hoping regular practise of this will help reduce appearance of cellulite but like with any natural remedy, patience is key. Will keep you all posted on that front, but in the meantime i encourage you to look around your homes and see what you can find in order to make the best from waste.
If there are any practises you follow, let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear and maybe give those a try too!
