Who we are
Department of Community Health of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM) at Saragur, HD Kote taluk, Mysuru District, aims at behavior change for promoting health and preventing health problems and facilitating access to social security schemes including schemes of health, available in government. There is seamless integration of both institutional and community based activities for modifying environmental determinants that influence health and ensuring continuum of care through referral and linkage services and home based care and follow up. The health workers working in villages and tribal colonies form the backbone of the Community health wing. Multipurpose health work concept is adopted wherein each health worker is assigned specific geographic zone and will be working comprehensively on all possible health issues which includes but not limited to reproductive and child health, sanitation and personal hygiene, care and support of physically challenged and promoting healthy lifestyles.
