Male breast enlargement? Proper tests help find the real cause.

Diagnosing gynecomastia starts with understanding your symptoms and medical history.

Doctors may advise simple blood tests to check thyroid and hormone levels. In some cases, liver or kidney tests are needed, especially in older patients.

If required, scans like ultrasound or CT help rule out other conditions and ensure accurate diagnosis.

Treating the root cause is always the priority, only then is the right treatment planned.

Don’t rely on guesswork. A specialist evaluation brings clarity and confidence.

Not just weight gain, gynecomastia has many medical causes.

Gynecomastia can happen due to natural body changes or certain medical conditions.
It may appear in newborns, during puberty, or with aging, all part of normal hormonal shifts.

Other causes include hormone imbalance, thyroid problems, liver or kidney disease, certain medications, substance use, sudden weight loss, or sometimes no clear cause at all.

Understanding the reason is the first step toward the right solution.
If you notice male breast enlargement, don’t self-diagnose, consult a specialist for proper evaluation.

Male chest enlargement? It’s not always fat, know the real reason.

Gynecomastia is a non-cancerous enlargement of male breast tissue caused by an increase in glandular tissue, not just weight gain.
When chest enlargement is due to fat, it’s called pseudo-gynecomastia and may improve with exercise.
But true gynecomastia does not go away with workouts alone and needs proper medical evaluation.

If you notice changes in your chest shape, don’t guess, get clarity from a specialist.
Early consultation helps identify the cause and the right solution.

Spotting Between Periods? Here’s What Every Woman Should Know!

Intermenstrual bleeding, bleeding or spotting between two periods, is more common than many women realize.
It can happen due to cervical issues (like infection, polyps, or erosion), uterine causes (like thickened lining, uterine polyps, or endometritis), or sometimes ovarian cysts.

Most importantly, don’t ignore any unusual bleeding pattern. Early evaluation by a gynecologist helps identify the cause and ensures timely, safe treatment.

At Shenoy Hospitals, we believe no injury is “too small” to be taken seriously, especially when it involves the hand and thumb, which are responsible for most of our daily movements.

This week, we treated a young patient who injured his thumb during a friendly basketball game. What he assumed was a simple sprain turned out to be a hidden thumb fracture. The X-ray revealed a small bone fragment had broken off and pulled down the crucial muscle that enables thumb movement. If ignored longer, this injury could have caused permanent stiffness and loss of function.

Our orthopedic team, led by Dr. Sumit, performed a precise surgical repair to fix the displaced bone and restore proper thumb mechanics. With timely intervention and dedicated physiotherapy, the patient has regained smooth and pain-free movement.

Breast lump noticed? Don’t panic, just get it checked on time.

A breast lump doesn’t always mean something serious, but sudden changes like size increase, hardness, pain, or ni**le discharge should be evaluated early.

Before removing a lump, doctors may advise mammography or a tissue biopsy to understand its nature and plan the safest treatment.

Every woman’s body is unique, and every story matters. Awareness + timely consultation = peace of mind.

For guidance or a breast check-up, visit Shenoy Hospitals, Secunderabad.
