Sometimes you may notice tightness in your palm, difficulty straightening your fingers, or fingers slowly bending inward. This could be a condition called Dupuytren’s Disease.
In this condition, the palmar fascia (a layer under the skin of the palm) becomes thick and tight. Over time, it pulls the fingers inward, most commonly affecting the ring finger and little finger.
Although it is a slowly progressive condition, early awareness and timely consultation can help manage symptoms and prevent severe finger bending that may require bigger surgery later.
If you notice persistent finger tightness or bending, it’s always best to consult a specialist early for proper guidance.
