A 5-year-old child was brought to Dr. Deenadayal’s ENT Care Centre with a strange complaint, a persistent bad smell from the nose, frequent colds, and difficulty in breathing. When we examined him, we discovered a stone-like foreign body lodged deep inside the nose, causing infection and swelling. Along with this, the child also had large adenoids, which were blocking his nasal passage completely.
A foreign body inside the nose can quickly lead to infection, foul smell, discharge, swelling, and breathing problems. In young children, this is very common because they often insert beads, stones, paper, or food pieces without realizing the danger.
Under safe general anesthesia, we carefully removed the foreign body using endoscopy and also treated the enlarged adenoids using the coblation technique. This method helps remove the tissue with minimal bleeding and faster recovery.
After the procedure, the child can now breathe freely and sleep peacefully, and the recurrent cold and mouth-breathing issues have significantly improved.
At Dr. Deenadayal’s ENT Care Centre, our goal is always to ensure safe, precise, and child-friendly treatment for all ENT problems.
