An appeal to all Christians in Khasi -Jaiñtia and Garo hills to make 2024 a Year of Temperance.
The Bible defines temperance as: “Emotional restraint or self-control. Being temperate is to use moderation in all things or to exercise self-control.
So let us Pray and Request God to Give Us the strength to be temperate in all things that we do.
A person who shows temperance has a strong mind and does not eat too much, drink too much, or do too much of anything.
In our society the most evil and Home wrecking issue is ALCOHOL. While there is no law that stops us from drinking Alcohol, there is however the need to be temperate and show self control.
Alcohol has taken so many lives and ruin them and killed them. It has single handedly destroyed good Christian homes and lead Children of alcoholics to ruins.
As people who live in Meghalaya, our ability to moderately consume alcohol is weak. We are unable to do so. While a few may be able to control themselves, a large number of low income families are suffering due to this intoxicating drink.
Many Children, Youths and Young Adults also fall prey to its ill-effects and are easily hooked in its temporary Enjoyment that will eventually lead to their ruin.
Thus, we hope and pray that with the start of a New Year, 2024, ALL those who reads this message puts a special prayer for temperance in our lives.
Alcohol, Anger , Greed , Gluttony, Corruption, and many more requires US the Christian to Pray to Our Living God to Rid Us of Evil and Help Us Restraint Ourself from Excess.
By ourselves we have no self-control, but temperance is one of the fruits of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us with self-control, overcoming sin, and obeying the Lord. Submit to the Lord. Continually cry out to God for help.
