Avoid screen exposure around night time especially the use of mobile phones.

Also avoid day time naps, increase natural light exposure in the day.

Use your bed for sleep only; avoid sitting, eating on your bed.

Delusional Disorders are not very rare. They lead to recurrent behaviours which can become a problem. Here are the types:
📍 1. Bizarre Delusions
👉 A belief that is completely implausible (e.g., being abducted by aliens to control weather).
✅ No connection with reality.

📍 2. Delusional Jealousy
👉 Constant false belief that one’s partner is unfaithful.
✅ Also known as Othello Syndrome.

📍 3. Erotomania
👉 Belief that someone (often of higher status) is in love with them.
✅ Common in celebrity stalking cases.

📍 4. Grandiose Delusions
👉 Exaggerated sense of self-importance or identity.
✅ “I am a prophet or royalty” mindset.

📍 5. Delusions of Being Controlled
👉 Belief that one’s thoughts/actions are controlled by external forces.
✅ “They are making me do this.”

📍 6. Delusions of Reference
👉 Thinking neutral events (e.g., news or signs) are directly about them.
✅ “That ad is sending me a message.”

📍 7. Persecutory Delusions
👉 Belief that they are being spied on, followed, or harmed.
✅ Most common type of delusion.

📍 8. Somatic Delusions

Mental health issues are extremely common. Patients with mental health problems including depression, anxiety and other disorders are misled on daily basis, as i have observed in my years of experience. They are subjected to unnecessary investigations, multiple medications and are never referred to a mental health professional.

Depression is characterised by sadness of mood and sleep disturbances. Bekaraari and Gabrahat, Anger and Aggression or any one of these.

To my friends and seniors in practice, absolutely fine if you try to treat patients with depression, but please and please do not attempt treating pregnant females, patients with suicidal ideations, comorbed substance use, extremes of age (adolescents and elderly), severe anxiety, sleep disturbances and severe changes in apetite.

Always refer patients if they do not respond to an initial 2 week therapy of an antidepressant trial. Always. Thank you.
