ICCONS ICCONS is the first institute of its kind in the Asian countries for comprehensive multidisciplinary management of cognitive and communicative disorders.

ICCONS is under the guidance of the Society for Rehabilitation of Cognitive and Communicative Disorders (SRCCD), an autonomous body registered under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Act, 1955. The Society has started its institutions, the Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neurosciences (ICCONS) at Trivandrum on 2nd of October 1998 and on 16th November 2000 Kavalappara, Shoranur, Palakkad. Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neuro Sciences [ICCONS] is the first institute of its kind in the Asian countries for comprehensive multidisciplinary management, research and rehabilitation of cognitive and communicative disorders affecting all age groups. The Institute has established its activities in the field of Autism, Learning Disability, Developmental Language Disorders, Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Hearing Impairment, Adult Stroke Aphasia and other related problems, Parkinson;s Disease, Dementia of Alzheimer’s type and other Genetic, Metabolic and degenerating Diseases affecting Speech, Language and Cognitive functions in children and adults. The rehabilitation and management of various disabilities are formulated and updated according to the protocol of WHO (ICIDH -1, ICIDH-2 and ICF ()). The Institute extends its service to acute care management to chronic phase of rehabilitation, special education, vocational training and job placement. The Institute also is engaged in Research & Development activities on various developmental disabilities and non communicable neurological disorders including integrated research and management with other disciplines like Ayurveda.
