On the occasion of World Asthma Day 2026, the department of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy had organised an Asthma Awareness and Screening Camp at Gram Panchayat, Kohlar today. A total of 18 students participated in the camp under faculty guidance, and 32 patients were screened. 16 patients were diagnosed with mild to moderate airway obstruction.
The camp included basic respiratory screening , assessment and education on asthma management and breathing exercises.
The camp successfully promoted awareness and early identification of asthma and was well received and appreciated by all attendees.🩺❀️

On occasion of Autism Awareness month April 2026 Department of Paediatric Physiotherapy in association with Indian Association of Physiotherapists Women Cell, Ahilyanagar successfully conducted an awareness lecture for ASHA workers at Zharekathi PHC on 23/04/26. The session focused on early identification, intervention, and the importance of timely support for children with autism. Informative pamphlets were also distributed to enhance awareness at the community level.

The Department of Neurophysiotherapy at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy organized an online Webinar llecture on β€œDecoding Endocrine Pathways to Diabetic Neuropathy” on 25th April 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Siddhima Hardikar, Associate Professor, TMV Pune, who provided a clear understanding of the disease, including its causes, endocrine mechanisms, and progression.

She also highlighted the medical and physiotherapy perspectives in managing diabetic neuropathy, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and rehabilitation. The lecture was interactive, with active participation from undergraduate and postgraduate students through questions related to clinical practice.
Overall, the session was informative and enhanced the students’ knowledge and clinical understanding.😊

The Department of Neurophysiotherapy organized a value-added course on β€œComa Stimulation and Arousal Therapy” for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Rajendra Aher, Neurosurgeon, delivered an insightful session that enhanced the medical understanding of coma and its clinical implications.

Dr. Ketaki Patani, Associate Professor from the Department of Neurophysiotherapy, provided an in-depth explanation of the physiotherapy approach to coma stimulation and arousal therapy.

This program contributed significantly to the academic growth and clinical learning of students at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy, PIMS, Loni.🩺😊

On the occasion of Autism Awareness Month 2026, the Department of Paediatric Physiotherapy, in collaboration with IAPWC Ahilyanagar, organised an awareness lecture on Autism for ASHA workers and healthcare volunteers at Kolhar PHC on 16/04/2026.
Department of Neuro Physiotherapy also conducted an awareness lecture on Parkinson’s Disease for the Asha workers and healthcare volunteers on the same day as part of World Parkinson’s Day 2026 activities.
Both the above activities were organised in collaboration with the School of Public Health and Social Medicine, PIMS (DU).πŸ˜‡

On the occasion of *World Health Day* ,the Department of Community Physiotherapy, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam College of Physiotherapy, PIMS (DU), successfully organized a Physiotherapy Screening and Treatment Camp at Rahata RHTC.The initiative aimed to identify common musculoskeletal issues, balance and mobility concerns, and functional impairments, while offering early guidance, preventive strategies, and appropriate physiotherapy care.

The camp witnessed the participation of 54 individuals, who actively engaged in exercises and discussions. Faculty members Dr. Deepali Hande and Dr. Atharva Ghaisas, along with students, contributed wholeheartedly to the camp. Dr. Deepali Hande also delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of physiotherapy.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Deepali Hande (HOD) and with the support of Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sinha. Patients expressed heartfelt gratitude for the care provided.πŸ˜‡

On the occasion of World TB Day (24th March 2026), the Department of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy organized an outreach activity on tuberculosis (TB) prevention at Gram Panchayat, Loni. As part of the program, students presented an informative skit highlighting the causes, prevention, treatment, and the important role of physiotherapy in the recovery process of TB patients. A total of 60 students actively participated in the activity, and around 20 residents from Loni attended the program. Additionally, students distributed pamphlets to raise awareness and provide essential information about TB prevention and management.πŸ«€πŸ©Ί
