The NIFSE was established under government registrations Act, All courses provided under National Institute of Fire and Safety Engineering, are recognized by Ministry of Labour and Employment (Govt. of India), University Grant Commission, (Govt. of India ),Technical Board and AICTE-UGC-DEC joint committee for Advance Course, Degree Course, Post Graduate ,Diploma Courses in Fire Safety, Industrial safety Engineering, and Security Management, where pupils can train themselves into excellent Fire Safety Engineers and Safety Officers. The objective of the institution is to educate students and people of the country. Fire the cause of human civilization and good friend of humanity, when it spreads in an uncontrolled becomes a vicious enemy resulting in heavy losses of properties and lives. How handicapped we are in combating the worst menace, i.e. FIRE in almost all sectors of our activities today. It is not the equipments or the hardware, alone which can fight with the horror, but it is primarily the skilled manpower, which is so scanty in our country. NIFSE, NAGPUR would train skilled fire personnel's with latest technologies and proper knowledge of the situational science and engineering implied therein who can be readily put not only to combat FIRE when it breaks out but take care of all preventive methods to avoid any occurrence or recurrence, thousands of people are killed or injured and property worth billions of rupees is lost to the ravages of fire each year. In addition, the loss of time, income and corporate profits caused by accidents, injuries, and occupational health problems and hazardous material also adds up to millions of rupees. Although common place, these losses need not be accepted as inevitable, the number of lives lost, injuries sustained, monetary losses could be reduced or prevented, provided we inculcate proper awareness, training, education and provide expertise in selecting right fire safety equipments for required purpose. IFSE has only one Motto that is "WE LEARN TO SAVE" Life and Property from devastating Fire/Accident/Earth Quake/Natural Calamities etc. India is in the midst of rampant growth on all fronts and hence the overwhelming demand for skilled, professionally trained manpower to safeguard Industrial units in fields as diverse as Refineries, Heavy Engineering Manufactures, Automobile Manufactures, Textile, Airports, Ports, Building Industry, Power Sector, Telecom Sector. To state the facts the Fire Fighting Industry is worth Rs. 3000 corers annually. The fact that the personnel are required for this Industry cannot be met by the supply of today. The Students of "Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety and Security Management and"Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering" and PG Diploma in Fire & Safety Management can be appointed either Station Fire Officer or Asst. Station Fire Officer in State Fire Services and Fire Officer or Asst. Fire Officer in Industrial Fire Services depending upon their basic qualification. The Students who pass "One Year Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering" are eligible for Sub-Officer,Fire Supervisor, Leading Fireman and who pass. "Six Months Certificate in Fire Safety Engineering" is eligible for Fireman/Fire Tender Drivers/ Pump Operator (those who are having valid HMV license) depending upon their basic qualification. Industrial Security Course, pupil have lot many scope for employment as day by day all companies and organisation are going for privatization, and they have already started giving security services to private and professional personnel's therefore looking to the future scenario of Govt/ Semi Govt / Private industries job opportunities in this sector is quiet high.
