Cervical Extension Syndrome
▪️Key Features:
☑️ Excessive upper cervical extension during movement or rest.
☑️Common in those who habitually “look up” or have an elevated chin posture.
▪️Possible Muscle Imbalances:
▪️Shortened: Suboccipitals, upper trapezius, levator scapulae.
▪️Weak: Deep neck flexors, lower trapezius.
▪️Clinical Signs:
• Occipital headaches.
• Pain with prolonged standing or driving.
• Tenderness at suboccipital region.
