International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21 June every year to highlight the importance of Yoga and its benefits for our minds and body. It is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world, so no other day can be as perfect to celebrate such an event as the 21st of June.
Yoga originated in ancient India as a physical, mental, and spiritual practice. It combines physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), meditation, and ethical principles to promote overall well-being. Yoga is excellent for a student since it provides improved flexibility, strength, and balance. Also helps in reducing stress, anxiety, and depression due to the workload and enhances focus and mental clarity.
Gyansagar is excited to announce a competition for Yoga enthusiasts and also encourage students to engage more in yoga (a way to live a better life). Interested ones are asked to make a video performing the most important asana, Surya Namaskar and one asana of their own choice. Submission will be done through the Google form attached below. A participation certificate will be given to all the participants and the video will be uploaded on the Nirvan yoga page and the best 3 entries will get additional certificate apart from certificate of participation.
Deadline of Video submission must be done before the 21st evening.

The name โ€˜Vrikshasanaโ€™ is comes from Sanskrit, in which โ€˜Vrikshaโ€™ means Tree and meaning of Asana is to seat, pose or posture. When this pose is performed effectively, it would seem that a tree. As it were, you stop like a tree in the last position of this stance. The leg that you are remaining on resembles a trunk attached to the ground with arms and the other leg and the head go about as branches and clears out. So it is called Tree pose. This Pose has a place with the Inverted Balancing gathering of stances. It is a standout amongst the most troublesome, intriguing and powerful yoga postures.

The Tree Pose Yoga is helpful for individuals experiencing postural disfigurements of spine, joint inflammation of joints of upper and lower furthest points, shortcoming of legs and shoulders and gentle happiness.

Anulom Vilom Pranayama is one of several Pranayama or breathing exercise used in the practice of Hatha yoga. At first, you have to understand the meaning of Anuloma and Viloma. In this, the first word Anu roughly translates as with and word Loma means hair implying โ€œwith the grainโ€ or โ€œnaturalโ€. And the meaning of Viloma is โ€œagainst the grain.โ€ Anuloma is the opposite of Viloma. It is very helpful in respiratory-related diseases like Asthma.

Anulom Vilom Pranayama is the best way of balancing the Tri dosas in our body. Our body gets ill when Tri dosas are not in a balancing position. Vaaa, Pitta, Kaffa know as Tri dosas, Tri means โ€œthreeโ€ and the meaning of dosas is impurities. All these are present in the body of every people. If one of them is an imbalance that we suffer from different diseases. All three are the cause of all diseases. So itโ€™s important to balance these tri dosas. If you really want to balance these Tri dosas than do Anulom Vilom pranayama regularly. It is the simplest and best way for this.

Pranayama is the yogic practice of focusing on breath. Prana means "vital life force", and Yama means to gain control. In yoga, breath is associated with the prana, thus, pranayama is a means to elevate the Prana shakti, or life energies. In texts like the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and later in Hatha yoga texts, it meant the complete suspension of breathing.
When we chant OM, we take a deep breath in and while breathing out slowly, we chant the OM sound. In essence, then, OM chanting becomes a form of pranayama with a deep breathing pattern. We create the OM sound by constricting the passage of the outgoing breath.
