Hello 👋
ladies 🚺

this is one of the most demanding remedies, how to get rid of unwanted hairs due to pcos. So what is the reason? And the answer is abundance of the Androgen hormone. Androgens are a group of male hormones that includes testosterone. When androgen level is high in women, increased testosterone leads to a number of physiological changes in addition to the growth of unwanted hair. Insulin Resistance is also another cause of it or sometimes the excessive of unwanted hairs is a pre-symptom of insulin resistance.

These parts of our body are more prone to get unwanted hairs due to pcos:
• Hands and legs
• Thighs
• Lower abdomen
• Lower back
• Upper lip
• Beard area

These parts of our body are less prone to get unwanted hairs due to pcos:
• Belly area and upper Abdomen
• Upper back
• Breast and its adjacent areas like sternum

There are several ways to reduce unwanted hairs. Here we have tried provide all possible ways taken from some of the reputed sources, those might be helpful for women trying to reduce unwanted hairs.

Natural ways:
As mentioned above excessive of androgen level leads to abundance of hair. So we should focus on our diet first. Foods those help to lower androgen level might be helpful. Some of these include-
• Spearmint
• Nuts
• Soy
• Tofu
• Flaxseed
• Marjoram herb
• Licorice root
• Vegetable oil

Other natural ways by making packs and applying on the areas with excess hair (apply and rub for 15 mins approx) :
• 1 tbsp each of (egg white + corn starch + sugar) (this measurement is for face)
• Blending after mixing 2 tbsp each of (Oatmeal + banana/ 1 banana peel) (this measurement is for face)
• 2 tbsp each of (Lemon juice + honey/sugar) (this measurement is for face)
• Also take half cut Lemon and remove half of its juice. Apply a tbsp of sugar on that half cut lemon and rub that on the area with unwanted hair. Lemon pulp helps to fight unwanted hair.
• Blending (4 tbsp of (Lemon juice + honey/sugar) + 5 tbsp overnight soaked lentils + 8 tbsp of potato juice) (this measurement is for one forearm)
• 1.5 tbsp each of (gram flour + turmeric + curd) instead of curd you can also add half of a medium sized tomato juice by cutting it into small pieces and squeezing its juices to the mixture with the help of a clean cloth. However curd is more preferable. (this measurement is for face)

Note : Applying moisturizer is recommended for people having dry skin after using these packs.

Artificial ways:
• Waxing
• Tweezing
• Threading
• Shaving (usually not recommended for facial hair)
• Using depilatory and bleaching creams (may include harshness of chemicals)
• Electrolysis : A small needle is inserted into a hair follicle to deliver an electrical charge, killing the hair down to its root. It is permanent and costly and might be painful to some people.
• Laser hair removal : An intense beam of laser light is applied to an area of hairy skin. Not permanent but hair growth stops for a longer period than waxing. Costly process and may not be as successful in people with lighter skin who have darkly colored hair.

Medications: (only and only on the recommendation of doctors)
• Birth control pills
• Anti androgen steroid medications prescribed by doctors.
• Nonsteroidal antiandrogenic drugs prescribed by doctors.

Note- These solutions have been taken from some of the reputed sources from internet and don't include our personal views and opinions.

Some common symptoms of PCOS you need to know. This is an easiest way to suspect if you have PCOS or not, so that you can start your schedule to combat it. The main villain that comes along with PCOS is insulin resistance, that causes the following problems. But there is nothing to be panic because if there is a problem, there always exists a solution.

1. If you have delayed or prolonged periods or more than one periods in a month. Along with this you may gain weight. Weight gain is due to insulin resistance which causes your pancreas to make more hormone. That extra insulin promotes fat storage and increases hunger, which can cause weight gain. Other hormones that regulate hunger and fullness can also be affected with PCOS.

2. Fatigue is another problem that you may experience along with this. Normal tiredness can be relieved by sleep and rest. But excessive tiredness, also known as fatigue, can be overwhelming and seriously affect a person's quality of life. Fatigue is also a result of insulin resistance, that may cause your cells take less glucose or sometimes it may take more glucose than the requirement which causes uncontrolled glucose levels and leads to type 2 diabetes. If your cells are not taking the actual amount of glucose as per their requirement, they may not function well, which can cause tiredness or fatigue.

3. Studies have been found that PCOS may cause Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and excessive day sleepiness. The most common cause of obstructive sleep apnea is excess weight and obesity, which is associated with the soft tissue of the mouth and throat. During sleep, when throat and tongue muscles are more relaxed, this soft tissue can cause the airway to become blocked. PCOS involves hyperandrogenemia, a form of insulin resistance unique to affected women, and possible changes in cortisol and melatonin secretion, arguably reflecting altered hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal function. Psychological and behavioral pathways are also likely to play a role, as anxiety and depression, smoking, alcohol use and lack of physical activity are also common among women with PCOS, partly in response to the distressing symptoms they experience. So this may cause sleep disorders among them.

4. Melatonin is a hormone that your brain produces in response to darkness. It helps with the timing of your circadian rhythms (24-hour internal clock) and with sleep. But due to anxiety and other psychological disturbances like depression and frustration its secretion is hampered which may cause sleep disturbances at night and you may feel tired at day time.

To overcome this problem you have to:

1. Have patience and have faith on the process and most importantly on yourself. As discussed earlier insulin resistance may cause difficulty in weight loss but there is no evidence that it stops weight loss. It takes time and your patience, consistency and hardwork definitely help you to lose weight. Slow weight loss may cause anxiety, frustration and may demotivate you for the exercise but this is the peak and most hardest time for weight-loss. If you are able to overcome this you will definitely conquer the PCOS.

2. To overcome anxiety do meditations. Follow a healthy food pattern. And you may take additional supplements as per doctor's advice.
