Q: What is Rudrapuja?
A: Rudrapuja is an ancient practice that has been followed in India since time immemorial. In Rudrapuja, Lord Shiva is worshipped in His Rudra form. ‘Rudra’ means Shiva who is Benevolent - the one who is kind and generous. He is also the Destroyer of Evil. 'Puja' means an action which is born out of gratefulness.
So during the Rudrapuja, when we pray and offer our worries and desires to the Divine with complete gratitude, we experience inner peace, joy, and fulfillment and become free from worries. It is indeed a blessing to be a part of the auspicious Rudrapuja.
Q: Why is Rudrapuja performed or What is the significance of Rudrapuja?
A: This world is a play of both positive and negative energies. During Rudrapuja, when we pray to Shiva – the Lord of transformation; the entire negative energy which is present around us in form of disease, depression and unhappiness gets transformed positively into peace, prosperity and joy. We are then surrounded by peace in the body, mind and soul. The Nature too flourishes and becomes rejoiceful. In India, Rudrapuja is being practiced since time immemorial. The ancient holy scriptures such as Vedas consider it to be as one the greatest Pujas for removal of all evils, for fulfillment of all desires and for prosperity. Even the astrological scriptures prescribe Rudrapuja as a remedy for several planetary doshas
