Dental implant placement isn’t just about placing a titanium screw in the bone . It requires meticulous planning and immaculate placement . It takes years of education to achieve optimal results .

Sometimes lack of this know how and prosthetic planning leaves the implant unusable or with chronic issues like peri implantitis or screw loosening .

Sharing a case where the patient will have to undergo an implant removal due to wrong placement somewhere . You can see that the prosthtetic screw is on the outer ( buccal ) side which means the implant is placed buccolingually with an extreme angulation just for the sake of placing an implant .

This case would require a cbct and expertise for a precise placement or other options should have been explored . Sometimes implant may not be the right option and one should realise that .
