Thyroglossal duct fistulaexcised completely in a child..the child was discharged on very next day..till 1 year the child is doing fine with no symptoms..

A middle aged female patient came with a swelling on the right side of the neck for 10 years approx. Initially it was small in size and increased rapidly over past few months. She consulted me and preliminary investigations showed swelling in right carotid triangle. She was planned for surgery . The swelling was closed to carotid artery and was originating from a nerve . The swelling was excised completely by saving the nerve.. Histopathology showed benign nerve sheath tumour....patient is doing fine 3 months follow up

A middle aged female patient presented with difficulty in swallowing food for 10 years approx. Initially it was mild later she could only have liquid food. On examination , a large swelling was found in the oral cavity on the soft palate( superior portion of the mouth) and there is very little space for swallowing. CT scan showed a well defined mass in the oral cavity.FNAC showed benign type tumour. She was planned for surgery and the whole mass was excised by trans oral approach. She was discharged on the very next day..Histopathology showed benign salivary tumour.On 3 months follow up she is doing fine and her life is changed... so do not ignore any swelling in mouth.. A 10 year old child attended for pus discharging from neck since childhood. Parents attended various places but the symptoms persisted. MRI Neck was done and it was found to be a 2nd arch branchial fistula(congenital anomaly of neck) extending from neck up to tonsillar fossa. The child was planned for surgery and the tract was completely excised and the patient was discharged on very next day.... Do not ignore ..consult neck surgeon..
