বাংলাদেশের এক শিশু দৃষ্টিশক্তি ফিরে পেল:
শৈশবের ছানি একটি শিশুকে তার উজ্জ্বল ভবিষ্যৎ থেকে বঞ্চিত করতে পারে। সময়মতো চিকিৎসার মাধ্যমে শৈশবের ছানি সফলভাবে চিকিৎসা করা যায় এবং দৃষ্টিশক্তি পুনরুদ্ধার করা যায়। গত ডিসেম্বর মাসে ছয় বছর বয়সী তপস্যা রায়কে তার বাবা-মা বাংলাদেশ থেকে আমাদের কাছে নিয়ে এসেছিলেন ছানি চিকিৎসার জন্য।

হিমালয়ান আই ইনস্টিটিউটে ডাঃ স্বরূপ কুমার রায় তার উভয় চোখের অপারেশন সফলভাবে করেছেন। তবে, একজন শিশু ছানি রোগীর চোখের দৃষ্টিশক্তির উন্নতি নিশ্চিত করার জন্য দীর্ঘমেয়াদী ফলোআপ প্রয়োজন। শিলিগুড়ি সীমান্তবর্তী গ্রামীণ বাংলাদেশের রোগীরা ভারতীয় স্বাস্থ্যসেবা পরিষেবার উপর ব্যাপকভাবে নির্ভরশীল, কিন্তু গত কয়েক সপ্তাহে তারা মেডিকেল ভিসা পেতে অনেক চ্যালেঞ্জের মুখোমুখি হয়েছেন। এখন বাংলাদেশে নতুন সরকারের সাথে ভিসার সমস্যা দূর হয়েছে। ভারত এবং বাংলাদেশের বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ সম্পর্ক থেকে সীমান্তের উভয় পাশের মানুষ অনেক উপকৃত হয়েছেন। ভবিষ্যতে ফলোআপ এবং পাওয়ার চেকআপের জন্য তপস্যার প্রায়শই হিমালয়ান আই ইনস্টিটিউটে আসার প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। আন্তর্জাতিক সীমান্তে শান্তি তপস্যাকে দীর্ঘমেয়াদী চিকিৎসার মাধ্যমে সম্পূর্ণ দৃষ্টিশক্তি ফিরে পেতে সাহায্য করবে। আমরা সর্বশক্তিমানের কাছে প্রার্থনা করি যে তপস্যা যেন খুব শীঘ্রই তার স্কুলে ফিরে যেতে পারে। হোলির উৎসবের প্রাক্কালে, আমাদের কামনা এটাই যে তপস্যা যেন জীবনের সকল উজ্জ্বল রঙ উপভোগ করতে পারে।
