Diagnostics, Pathology and ECG Clinic

𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 & 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘆:
A senior patient visited our hospital last year with a complaint of distorted vision and on off vision in her right eye. After comprehensive eye check-up by our retina surgeon, Dr. Sangeeta D. Goswami, she was diagnosed with macular hole in her right eye and advised for surgery. Post surgery her vision improved from 3/60 to 6/60. Recently during her follow up visit,
she was diagnosed with cataract in her right eye. She underwent a successful cataract surgery by Dr. Supratik Banerjee and post surgery her eye sight improved upto 6/24 in the right eye. The retina surgery for macular hole followed by cataract surgery helped her to regain vision in the right eye.

Cataract surgery can indeed be a life-changing experience, primarily by restoring clear vision and significantly improving a person's quality of life. This surgery can be safely performed during the summer or rainy season. Modern surgical techniques and sterile environments in the hospital make the season irrelevant to the success of the procedure. Lacrimal syringing is helpful if your eyes keep tearing and watering. These symptoms of watery eyes can indicate a blocked or narrowed tear drainage duct. Lacrimal syringing is the most frequently performed test in our outpatient clinic, and the patient does not feel any significant discomfort.
