A Daughter’s Training, A Father’s Second Life;
A nurse daughter saved her father’s life by giving him CPR after he suffered a cardiac arrest at home in Gangtok.

According to a well known cardiologist Dr. DP Rai, who shared the incident, a retired Para Commando and a veteran of the 1999 Kargil War, born into a Rajput family from Jammu and later married into a Sikkimese S***a family, he is now settled in Gangtok with his family, suddenly collapsed at his residence. Luckily, his daughter, who works as a nurse, was present and quickly performed Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), which helped revive him, giving doctors the critical time needed to proceed with further medical intervention. He subsequently underwent the necessary procedure for cardiac arrest and was later shifted to STNM Hospital for continued treatment.

Doctors say the case highlights the importance of CPR knowledge among the public, as immediate response during cardiac arrest can make the difference between life and death.
