MEETING CUM TRAINING ON “TB MUKT GPU” –DTC SINGTAM

25TH/09/2024: Meeting cm Training on “TB MUKT GPU” was conducted by District Tuberculosis Center- Singtam in collaboration with State TB Cell Gangtok.

Among the attendees present were Chief Medical Officer (Pakyong) Dr Madan Mani Dhakal, Deputy State Tuberculosis Officer (State TB Cell) Dr Nagendra Gurung , Assistant Program Officer (State TB Cell) Dr Nirmal Gurung, Medical Officer Tuberculosis Cell Dr Sandhya Rai, MOIC Rangpo, Dental Surgeon Rongli , Dental Surgeon Rhenock , MLHP (Rangpo/Rhenock/Rongli), MPHW (Rangpo/Rhenock/Rongli), ASHA (Rangpo/Rhenock/Rongli), NGO (YODESS), TB Champions, Staff of DHS, Staff of DTC-Singtam.

The program started at around 10:30 AM with welcome note from Mr Om Kumar Chettri- Treatment Organiser DTC Singam. Criteria on “TB Mukt Panchayat” and way forward on “TB Mukt Panchayat” was given by Dr Sandhya Rai MOTC. J.Ambika Pradhan- District Programme Coodinator DTC Singtam emphasized on Nikshay Portal. Dr Nirmal Gurung Assistant Program Officer (State TB Cell) gave an overview on the Strategic Plan for Elimination of TB from Gram Panchayat Units of Sikkim.

Deputy State Tuberculosis Officer (State TB Cell) Dr Nagendra Gurung spoke on the holistic overview of NTEP, on Nikshay updation and on the line work required for making TB Free GPU. Chief Medical Officer (Pakyong) Dr Madan Mani Dhakal addressed the crowd on the importance of making TB Free GPU, demarcation of Districts in line with NTEP guidelines, importance of reporting and recording and on overall functioning of health system. The Program ended with Vote of thanks by Mr Om Kumar Chettri- Treatment Organiser DTC Singam.

First District TB forum Meeting with Mr. Rohan sir, New DC pakyong district was held on 25/07/24, at his office, pakyong.
DTO- Singtam has presented the overview of the programme and various schemes under it.
He has also briefed about the target achieved so far, challenges and way forward
In the key note address DC sir has thanked NTEP team for the achieving where the programme has reached and also urged the line departmental for coordination.
He has also assured to extend every possible support from his end.
The meeting ended with vote of thanks followed by high tea.

District Hospital Singtam
District Tuberculosis centre (DTC) in collaboration with Rongli HWC had organised a training programme for MPLPs and ASHAs of Rongli HWC.
The programme was also attended by Dr. Mingma Y Sherpa MOIC, Rongli PHC, Mr. Dhurva Baral TO, Mr. I. K Chettri HEO, Nursing Staffs Lab technicians and DTC team( Mr. Prahlad s***a, STLS, Mr. Sandeep Lama, STS, Mr. Roshan Sharma programme accountant)
Dr. Raju Singh, DTO, Singtam briefed about programatic approach of NTEP (procedure of sample collection, ACF, Follow up Contact Tracing and Awareness on TB.
On her address MOIC, Rongli-HWC has urged all the peripheral health workers to gear up and work as a team to achieve the target and proper communication between field worker HWC and District.
Mr. I.K chettri HEO, summarised the sessions and delivered the vote of thanks.

District Hospital Singtam
District Tuberculosis centre (DTC) in collaboration with NLEP and RCH Wing, H & WF Govt of Sikkim had organised a training programme for ASHAs and AWWs from Singtam & its surrounding area.
The programme was graced by Dr. Solomit Lepcha, Director cm DRCHO, Gangtok & Pakyong District.
The resourse person were Dr. Solomit Lepcha, Director cm DRCHO, Gangtok & Pakyong District, Dr. Raju Singh, DTO, Mr. Dorjee, NMLO and Miss Jay Ambika DPC, DTC, Singtam.
Training was on National Leprosy Eradication Programme, programatic approach of NTEP & IDCF ( diarrhoea control and prevention)
Main focuse was on Active search of leprosy, TB disease and Diarrhoeal disease control & prevention in children.
On key note address, DRCHO madam has urged all the peripheral health workers to gear up and work as a team to achieve the target the respective targets.
Miss. Jay Ambika, DPC, summarised the sessions and delivered the vote of thanks.

One day sensitization and re-orientation of doctors and other health staffs on programatic aspect towards tuberculosis elimination was organised by *District tuberculosis centre, Singtam*.
The programme was graced by Dr. Tempo Gyaltsen, CMO (gangtok & pakyong districts) and Dr. Ashok Kumar Rai, state TB officer (STO).
Dr Hemant Sunar (chief consultant, Respiratory Medicine, DHS) Dr. Prashant Mishra, (Data consultant, SHARE INDIA) and Mr. Pranai thapa, (state Lead, WORLD HEALTH PARTNERS) were also present as resource person.
Dental surgeons, Technical officers (TO), Health Educators, counsellors and data handlers from Rongli HWC, Rhenock CHC and Rangpo HWC and District Hospital Singtam (DHS) were present as participants.
Dr. Ashok Kr. Rai (STO) gave a talk on an overview of the national tuberculosis elimination programme( NTEP) followed by resource person’s presentation on their respective topics.
Dr Raju Singh, District tuberculosis officer(DTO), Singtam sensitised the participants on *TB free Gram Panchayat* and plans to achieve it. He also urged the participants to give wholehearted effort in achieving TB MUKT PANCHAYAT.
Programme was concluded with the key note address by CMO sir, who enthusiastically motivated the employees and assured to extend all possible support for the same.

District level End TB summit cm Felicitation program organised by Singtam in context to the bronze medal received by the state, in regards to the Sub National Certification for reduction of TB incidence rate in comparison to 2015 data .
The program was attended by Madam Prava Pradhan, Zilla Upadhkshya Pakyong district , Dr Ashok Rai ADHS cm state Tuberculosis officer , Dr Hemant Sunar chief consultant chest & respiratory Medicine DHS, District Medical Superintendent Dr Manoj Mishra , Doctors and health staffs.
The following were Felicitated at the summit : All the Department Heads / Doctors and staffs of District hospital Singtam / staffs of District tuberculosis center Singtam / Technical officers / Community health officers / NGO YODESS Rongli / ASHA/ TB champion / Safai Sathi District Hospital Singtam / stake holder Lupin human welfare and research foundation.
