✨ENT Case Story – Denture Removal Without Surgery✨
At Faiz Hospital, Makhdum Sarai, Siwan, a female patient came to the ENT department after accidentally swallowing her denture. She was unsure about its size, and an X-ray gave a rough idea of where it was stuck, but not the exact location since nature and radio-opacity was unknown
Dr. Imran Wasfi Khan performed a throat endoscopy to check for the denture up to the level of the vocal cords, but it wasn’t seen there. Suspecting that it had gone further down the food pipe (esophagus), he used a clever method: he gently inserted a Foley catheter (a tube with a balloon at the tip) into the esophagus, inflated the balloon past the denture, and slowly pulled it out.
The denture came out safely without any surgery, and the patient recovered well. This case shows how a simple technique can solve a tricky problem with great success.✨

मामला – बिना सर्जरी दांत Denture का सुरक्षित निकालना
Faiz Hospital, Makhdum Sarai, Siwan में एक महिला मरीज ENT विभाग में आईं, जिन्होंने गलती से अपना दांत (denture) निगल लिया था। उन्हें यह याद नहीं था कि दांत कितना बड़ा था। एक्स-रे में यह पता चला कि दांत गले में कहीं अटका हुआ है, लेकिन सही जगह का पता नहीं चल पाया।
डॉ. इमरान वासिफ़ी ख़ान ने पहले थ्रोट एंडोस्कोपी की, जिससे गले की अंदरूनी जांच की गई। वोकल कॉर्ड तक जांच करने के बाद भी दांत नजर नहीं आया। इसके बाद उन्होंने अंदाजा लगाया कि दांत शायद खाने की नली (इसोफेगस) में नीचे चला गया है।
फिर उन्होंने एक फॉली कैथेटर (एक नली जिसके सिरे पर गुब्बारा होता है) को धीरे-धीरे इसोफेगस में डाला, गुब्बारे को दांत के नीचे जाकर फुलाया और फिर नली को सावधानी से खींचते हुए दांत को बाहर निकाल लिया।
यह पूरी प्रक्रिया बिना सर्जरी के सफलतापूर्वक पूरी हुई, और मरीज पूरी तरह से ठीक हो गईं। यह केस दिखाता है कि सही तकनीक और अनुभव से कैसे एक मुश्किल समस्या को आसानी से हल किया जा सकता है।
