We are extremely happy to announce the inauguration of Mid-Level Ophthalmic Personnel (MLOP) Training Centre constructed with the support of Seva Foundation . In an event held this afternoon in the hospital premises,the centre was declared functional by Mr. Kuldeep Singh, Seva Foundation & Dr. Asim Sil, Medical Director in presence of Ms.Uma Bharti from Seva Foundation, Dr. Debendra Kumar Sahu, Med. Superintendent, Mr. K.Arun Kumar , Program head, LEPRA Society, Mr.Madhab Ku.Mishra, Eye Care Manager & Mr Bibhu Prasad Baliarsingh Hospital Administrator,MNC- LEPRA Society.
This centre aims to empower girls belonging from poor & marginalized communities to work in eye care sector for reducing the gap between demand and supply especially in underserved communities. The training program will play a vital role in addressing the shortage of skilled ophthalmic personnel and support in achieving the goal of accessible and quality eye care for all.
We are extending our heartfelt gratitude to the Seva Foundation & Vivekananda Mission Ashram - Netra Neramaya Niketan for their continuous support and guidance.

We are pleased to declare that Titelmal village under Laikera block in Jharsuguda district, has been successfully screened and treated for all identified cases of cataract. Today this village is officially declared as a Cataract Backlog-Free Village in presence of Mr Kuldeep Singh, Asia Regional Director Seva Foundation, Dr Asim Kumar Sil, Medical Director Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Neramaya Niketan West Bengal, Ms. V. Umabharati, Program Office Seva Foundation, Dr. Madhulita Sahu,ADPHO Jharsuguda, Mr K. Arun Kumar, Head Program LEPRA Society, Mr. Madhab Chandra Mishra, Eye Care Manager, LEPRA Society & Mr. Bibhu Prasad Baliarsingh Hospital Administrator Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya- LEPRA Society

This achievement is the result of dedicated community outreach, comprehensive eye screenings, timely cataract surgeries, and collaborative efforts by local health authorities and Seva foundation supported vision center laikera.

We extend our gratitude to the healthcare team and the villagers for their cooperation in making this initiative a success and setting a model for other villages.

A Free Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma Screening Camp was successfully organized at Mahanadi Vision Centre - Attabira under Bargarh district to raise awareness and provide early detection services for two major causes of irreversible blindness. The camp aimed at identifying individuals at risk and referring to them for timely treatment.
Patients diagnosed with diabetic eye disease or glaucoma were counseled and referred to Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya- LEPRA Society for further management. The camp witnessed active participation from diabetic patients and elderly individuals, ensuring wider outreach and preventive eye care access in the community.

This initiative reflects our commitment to early intervention and reducing avoidable blindness.

District level Low Vision assessment program at Boudh organized by Smagara Shiksha Boudh in collaboration with Sightsavers india and Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya- LEPRA Society to identified and supported children with visual impairments. The intervention will help them continue their education more effectively.

Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya- LEPRA Society successfully organized an engaging MNC Quiz Competition during the OSOCON, MID CON- ISPAT JYOTI- 2025 conference at Hotel Pahadi, Rouekela. The event saw enthusiastic participation from delegates, including postgraduate students and young Ophthalmologist from across the region.
The quiz tested participant’s knowledge on clinical Ophthalmology, recent advancements, and practical case scenarios. It served as an excellent platform for academic interaction and learning.
Winners were award with certificates, prizes and the session was highly appreciated for its interactive and competitive spirit.
This initiative reflects Mahanadi Netra Chikitsalaya – LEPRA Society continued commitments to promoting academic excellence and knowledge sharing in the field of Ophthalmology.

The team of MNC-Lepra Society have registered their presence prominently in the just concluded 75th Vision 2020 Annual conference held at Blind Peoples Association, Ahmadabad , Gujrat.

For the first time ever for any eye care institution of Odisha, three papers of MNC depicting different eye care activities were selected at a time by the scientific committee for presentation .

All the papers & presentations were appreciated by the gathering of eminent Ophthalmologists & eye care professionals.
