Press Release:

Bali Bhagat demands regularization of SRO 384 paramedical staff, NHM employees

JAMMU, MAY 22: Senior BJP lea der and Former Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat has demanded immediate regularization of paramedical staff working for the last over 11 years on academic arrangement under SRO 384.
In a statement issued here today, the former Minister said that about 1200 paramedical personnel appointed under the aforesaid arrangement have been rendering their services since 2011 and continue to play a commendable role even during the ongoing pandemic. It is pertinent to mention here that these paramedical personnel did remarkable work by rendering their services round the clock during calamities including flash floods and 2016 unrest to name only a few.
The BJP leader said that it was really against ethics and law not to regularize these persons despite the said SRO having provided for their regularization only after putting in six years of services. It is really an irony of this Union Territory that they have not been regularized so far. He asserted that several of them are over-aged and are presently not eligible for J&K government jobs.
Emphasizing that several posts are lying vacant in the Medical Education Department, he demanded their regularisation against the sanctioned posts at the earliest. Besides, taking special care of paramedical staff who are going over-aged.

Bali Bhagat also raised the issue of over 10000 NHM employees working in the J&K Health Department, who he alleged despite being the back bone of Health Department were facing a miserable plight. Drawing the attention of the UT administration to their plight he informed that they were recruited under Central Sponsored Scheme and are rendering their services on contractual basis since 2005. He said that he had already constituted a high level committee in 2017 for the regularisation of NHM employees. Later the committee recommended their case to government through finance department for consideration.

The senior BJP leader appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to regularize at least all such employees who are working as frontline warriors in the hour of crisis. He asserted that in the ongoing pandemic when even the Education department employees are being deputed for the COVID duties and retired personnel of the Health Services are being recalled to join the services to augment the efforts for winning the battle against COVID pandemic, it becomes the duty of the administration to regularize the personnel who are already proactively rendering services as frontline warriors.
