DIG CKR reviews functioning of Police Drug De-Addiction Centre at Eidgah Srinagar

January 08: DIG CKR Srinagar Shri Sujit Kumar-IPS visited Drug De-Addiction Centre at Eidgah Srinagar and reviewed the functioning of the centre. He was received by Incharge Drug De-Addiction Centre Dr. Muzafar Ahmad Khan who introduced him to all the IPD Patients. The officer interacted with these patients and sought to know the feedback of the centre.

DIG CKR held a meeting with staff of the centre in order to know their grievances and assured them to take these to logical conclusion. He also advised the staff to work to the best of their abilities as Drug De-Addiction Centre has already earned a name for itself but more needs to be done as drug addiction is a social problem and needs to be fought with all the strength and resources. Drug De-Addiction is a noble mission of Jammu and Kashmir police in its endeavour to achieve zero drug addiction in Kashmir.

On the occasion, SP City North Shri Raja Zuhaib, SDPO Mahraj Gunj Shri Hari Prasad-IPS and SHO Safakadal Insp. Sheikh Vakil were also present.

Pertinently, Drug De-Addiction Centre is proving its work by treating thousands of Drug Addicts of the valley. So far a total number of 4500 drug addicts were treated in the centre during the last two years i.e, (2337 in year 2022 & 2321 in year 2023).

Today on 24/11/2023 Dr.Mohd Muzaffar Director Police drug de addiction centre srinagar /YDRC deliver a talk on substance abuse in kashmir at Masjid Awqaaf Building Sonwar in which he highlighted the role and collective responsibilities of parents and civil societies for its Prevention .
More than thousands of devotees were present who listened with enthusiasm and appreciated such efforts from JK Police.
Meanwhile the Civil Societies and awqaaf Managment of jamia masjid sonwar srinagar paid a special thanks to DIG CKR Shri.Sujit Kumar (IPS) for deputing Dr .Mohd Muzafar for taking the police drug de addiction services / facalities to the communities through religious places.

Today on 16/11/2023 a one day awareness program with 'Teaching and Non teaching staff' & students was held at of one of the leading couching institution of Srinagar 'Mission E, PARREYPORA SRINAGAR.' The program was organised by Crime Branch J&K (ANTF) in collaboration with "Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre Eidgah Sringar, J&K Police & Civil Society of Kashmir.

In continuation of awareness programs, Today on 02/11/2023 a one day awareness program was organised by Civil Society Forum Kashmir in collaboration with Crime Branch of Police, Auqaf and Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre/ JK POLICE DDC at Government Polytechnic College in Srinagar with the religious preachers or IMAMS and other stakeholders as well.
Director YDRC Eidgah Sringar/ JKPOLICEDDC, DR.MOHAMMAD MUZAFFER KHAN presided the program and deliberated on 'the role of IMAMS for the prevention of drug abuse .

MS.IFRA and MR. ASHRAF SULTAN ( Counseling Psychologists at YDRC/JKPOLICEDDC) also highlights the current scenerio and early signs as well.

In continuation of awareness programs, Today on 19/10/2023 a one day awareness program with 'Teaching and Non teaching staff' & students was held at of one of the leading couching institution of Srinagar 'HOPE CLASSES, PARREYPORA SRINAGAR.' The program was organised by Crime Branch J&K (ANTF) in collaboration with "Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre Eidgah Sringar, J&K Police & Civil Society of Kashmir.

Director YDRC Eidgah, DR.MOHAMMAD MUZAFFER KHAN presided the program and deliberated on 'Prevention and Treatment of Substance Use Disorder' in detail and also stressed on making the Institute Drug free with certain Initiatives.

MS.IFRA ( Counseling Psychologist) discussed the Bio-Psycho-Social model of Substance Abuse.

MR. ISHFAQ NABI QURASHI ( Counseling Psychologist) discussed the 'Challenges in Substance Use Disorder and also provided insights about the common household items that are abused.

The management of HOPE CLASSES PARREYPORA SRINAGAR thanked the team for an insightful program. In the end YDRC team was felicitated by the administration of 'HOPE CLASSES PARREYPORA SRINAGAR' for which the team is highly thankful.

Continuing its efforts to reach more people particularly Students, Teaching and Non teaching staff of colleges an awareness program on Substance Abuse was held today on 26/09/2023 at Govt. Degree College for Women M.A Road Srinagar.The program was organised by Crime Branch J&K (ANTF) in collaboration with "Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre Eidgah Sringar , J&K Police & Civil Society of Kashmir.

Resource Person Mr. Ishfaq Qureshi ( Counseling Psychologist) deliberated on Prevention of SUD at different levels and our responsiblities in combating the menance.

Continuing its series of awareness programs, Today on 21/09/2023 a one day awareness program with 'Teaching and Non teaching staff' was held at of one of the leading couching institution of Srinagar 'ALLEN CAREER INSTITUTE Nowgam Srinagar.' The program was organised by Crime Branch J&K (ANTF) in collaboration with "Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre Eidgah Sringar , J&K Police & Civil Society of Kashmir.
Director YDRC Eidgah,Dr. Mohd. Muzafer Khan presided the program and deliberated on 'Prevention and Treatment of Substance Use Disorder' in detail and also provided the participants with practical aspects of Substance Use disorder.
Mrs. Iram ( Counseling Psychologist) provided the current alarming numbers of Substance Use Disorder , different abused drugs and current trends.

On 11th sep 2023 (world su***de prevention day) ,an awareness program held by Jk Police Drug De Addiction & Rehabilitation centre Eidgah /YDRC in collaboration with Govt Degree college ganderbal. Program was attended by principal, faculty members and students of the college. Mr Ashraf sultan guest speaker of the program gave awareness about su***de and risk factors associated with it. He also threw light on the prevention part where he explained the collective approach to address the problem. Another guest speaker Ms Tabinda Tariq who talked about the vulnerabilities/ risk factors of su***de among women and emphasized on seeking professional help. It ended with question and answer sessions..
