On August 11, 2025, a pregnant woman from Spn.. initially consulted a gynecologist in her home district, where she was advised to undergo various necessary tests before a scheduled C-section on August 12. However, the patient and her husband were not satisfied with the proposed treatment plan.
Seeking a second opinion, the couple traveled to Government Hospital Lal Ded on August 12, 2025, arriving at 5:00 PM. The medical team at LD Hospital conducted a thorough examination and promptly arranged for essential diagnostic tests including USG (ultrasound), CTG (cardiotocography), and ECG. Demonstrating the hospital's efficiency, all test reports were provided to the patient within one hour.
Following the evaluation, doctors advised the patient to return on August 19 for further consultation. However, nature had different plans - the patient went into labor and delivered safely at 9:30 PM the same day, experiencing what she described as a "smooth journey."

The patient and her family praised the hospital's comprehensive approach to healthcare. "The doctors, staff, and paramedical team were extremely cooperative," the family reported. They noted the hospital's commitment to cleanliness, with sweepers working around the clock to maintain hygiene standards in surgical wards, corridors, and patient areas, including regularly changed bed sheets.

The Medical Superintendent, Govt. LDH Sgr issued instructions to all the doctors, paramedical and other staff of the Hospital to desist from making videos or taking photos inside the Hospital, especially in highly sensitive areas, so that patient confidentiality is maintained / uphold the highest standards of privacy and to safeguard the dignity & honor of maternity and lactating mothers being admitted in this Institution.

Moreover, sign-boards are displayed in every corner / sensitive area of the Hospital with the warning that videography is prohibited and is punishable under law.

LD Hospital Marks National Safe Motherhood Day 2025 with Commitment and Compassion

Srinagar, April 11, 2025 — Government Lal Ded (LD) Hospital, in collaboration with the Safe Motherhood Committee of FOGSI and under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Shah, observed National Safe Motherhood Day 2025 with a series of awareness activities themed “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures.” The event highlighted the critical importance of accessible and high-quality maternal care from the preconception period through pregnancy and the postpartum phase.

Prof. (Dr.) Syed Masuma Rizvi, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, addressed the gathering and emphasized maternal rights as a cornerstone of public health.
