Crashing of London bound Air India passenger plane, minutes after its take off from Ahmedabad airport, will go down as one of the worst tragedies in the Indian Aviation history. Air travel is one of the safest modes of transport in the world but at times it is the most riskiest. Passengers on board were anticipating to meet their loved ones in a matter of few hours. However, their life was cut short tragically within the few seconds after their boarding. Lives lost and dreams shattered. Scenes from the crash site are very disturbing. But the lone Survivor from this tragedy strengthens our belief that no one can harm you untill or unless Allah wishes so. No one is immune to death and life at times halts amidst the most easy circumstances and affordable comforts.Very difficult time for the close relatives of those who lost their lives. We can only pray for the patience to affected families. Peace upon the departed souls.

Institute of Inclusive Education Kashmir organised World Down's Syndrome Day 2024

Today is World Down's Syndrome Day. The theme of the day is End The Stereotypes. As we know Down's syndrome is a genetic disorder caused when abnormal cell division results in extra genetic material from chromosome 21 (trisomy 21). caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21. It is usually associated with developmental delays, mild to moderate intellectual disability, and characteristic physical features.
Children and adults with Down syndrome have distinct facial features. Though not all people with Down syndrome have the same features, some of the more common features include:

Flattened face
Small head
Short neck
Protruding tongue
Upward slanting eye lids (palpebral fissures)
Unusually shaped or small ears
Poor muscle tone
Broad, short hands with a single crease in the palm
Relatively short fingers and small hands and feet
Excessive flexibility
Tiny white spots on the colored part (iris) of the eye called Brushfield's spots
Short height
Infants with Down syndrome may be average size, but typically they grow slowly and remain shorter than other children the same age.

Intellectual disabilities
Most children with Down syndrome have mild to moderate cognitive impairment. Language is delayed, and both short and long-term memory is affected.

The children with Down's Syndrome are capable and can perform well. Only teacher parent society can pay a pivotal role in developing personality of these children and protect these from dependence and discrimination. The awareness about Down's Syndrome can end the Stereotypes
