JKNHMEA Delegation Meets Health Minister: Assurances on Salary Release & Absorption Policy

A delegation of the All Jammu & Kashmir National Health Mission Employees Association (JKNHMEA), led by Divisional President Jammu Dr. Vikas Sharma and Divisional President Kashmir Mr Muneer Andrabi, met with Hon’ble Minister for Health & Medical Education J&K, Ms Sakeena Masood Itoo, at the Civil Secretariat, Jammu on 10-03-2025.
The delegation was accompanied by Hon’ble MLA Bani, Dr. Rameshwar Singh Ji, Hon’ble MLA Zainapora, Jenab Showkat Ahmad Ganai Sahab and Hon’ble MLA Rajpora, Jenab Ghulam Mohuddin Mir.
The meeting focused on the follow-up of the already submitted Charter of demands concerning NHM employees. The representatives emphasized the timely release of salaries for employees working under NHM, urging the Hon’ble Minister to take immediate action.
Additionally, the Association apprised the Minister of the clarification issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India (Letter No. Z.18015/12/2015-NRHM-II Pt (III), dated 24-Sep-2015), which states that the absorption of NHM employees is a decision to be made at the State/UT level.
Recognizing the critical role of NHM employees as the backbone of healthcare services, the Hon’ble Minister assured the delegation that she is committed to addressing their concerns. She immediately directed for a high-level meeting with health officials to develop a comprehensive way forward for resolving NHM employees' issues, including the absorption policy.
Furthermore, the JKNHMEA delegation also met Worthy Secretary of Health & Medical Education, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah (IAS), in his office. The delegation sought his personal intervention for ensuring the timely release of salaries. Acknowledging the issue, Dr. Shah assured that he has taken cognizance of the matter and has requested the Department of Finance and DG Resources to release the necessary funds for NHM employees at the earliest.
The JKNHMEA continues to work relentlessly on all platforms for the welfare and rights of NHM employees. The Association extends heartfelt gratitude to the Hon’ble MLAs for their unwavering support and guidance in advocating for NHM employees' rightful demands.
The Association reiterates its call for unity among NHM employees, urging them to stay strong and maintain faith in the Association’s efforts.
