Today a delegation of the Jammu & Kashmir Chemists and Distributors Association (JKCDA), Kashmir Province, today called upon the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Mr Anshul Garg (IAS)and submitted a memorandum issued by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) regarding the proposed nationwide strike scheduled for 20th May 2026.

The delegation was led by President JKCDA Kashmir Province, Mr. Arshad Hussain Bhat, and was accompanied by members of the Srinagar Chemists and Distributors Association (SCDA), including Mr. Mushtaq Pukhta, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, and Mr. Abdul Qayoom.

During the meeting, a detailed and comprehensive discussion was held on the issues and concerns highlighted in the memorandum. The delegation apprised the Divisional Commissioner of the challenges being faced by the pharmaceutical trade fraternity in the Kashmir Division.

On the occasion, President JKCDA Kashmir Province Mr. Arshad Hussain Bhat also raised the long-pending issue regarding the vacant post of Deputy Drug Controller, Kashmir Division. He informed the Divisional Commissioner that due to the non-availability of a Deputy Drug Controller in Kashmir, stakeholders are facing considerable inconvenience and are compelled to approach the Jammu office even for routine matters such as retention and other regulatory issues.

The Divisional Commissioner, Mr. Anshul Garg, gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities for an early resolution. The delegation also informed that a detailed representation regarding the issue would shortly be submitted to the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir.

The meeting concluded on a positive and constructive note, with both sides expressing their commitment towards addressing genuine concerns of the pharmaceutical trade sector and working collectively for the betterment of society.

Yesterday on 07/05/2026 a memorandum issued by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) regarding the proposed nationwide strike scheduled on 20th May 2026 was today handed over to Honourable Member Parliament Anantnag J&k Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi Sahib at his residence in Wangat, Ganderbal.

A detailed and threadbare discussion was held on the issues and concerns highlighted in the memorandum. During the meeting, Honourable Parliament member Anantnag Mian Altaf Sahib Larvi assured the delegation that he would take up the matter with the Union Health Minister and the Drug Controller General of India. He further assured that the issue would also be raised during the forthcoming Parliament Session after 20th July 2026.

The delegation was led by Arshad Hussain Bhat, President, JKCDA Kashmir Province, and Shabir Ahmad (Raheel), General Secretary, JKCDA Kashmir Province accompanied by representatives of Ganderbal Chemists and Distributors Association including Shiekh Ishtiyaq Qadri, President (GCDA); Bashir Ahmad Bhat, General Secretary (GCDA); Zahoor Ahmad Bhat; Shiekh Ghulam Rasool from Gousia Medicate Wusan; and from SCDA, Shiekh Abdul Rashid and Abdul Qayoom.

The meeting concluded in a cordial and positive atmosphere, with all participants expressing concern over the prevailing issues faced by the pharmaceutical trade fraternity.

A memorandum issued by the All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) regarding the proposed nationwide strike scheduled on 20th May 2026 was today (08/05/2026) handed over to Honourable Member of Parliament Srinagar, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, at his residence in Budgam.

RALLY FOR A DRUG-FREE KASHMIR,
100 Days of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.

​Today on 25/04/2026, a significant milestone was marked in the fight against substance abuse,under the leadership of ADC Srinagar, Madam Reema Ji, the Drugs and Food Control Organization (Kashmir Division), in collaboration with the Srinagar Chemists and Distributors Association (SCDA) successfully organized a massive rally in Srinagar.
​This initiative is a key part of the 100-day Nasha Mukt Abhiyan program launched by the LG Administration of Jammu & Kashmir.
​The rally saw a powerful synergy between government authorities, Pharma fraternity of Srinagar, and the community.
​Strengthening the cause, two prominent NGOs from Jammu traveled to Srinagar by bike's symbolising a cross Province commitment to a drug free J&K and participate in this rally showcasing a unified front against addiction across J&K.
​On behalf of the Srinagar Chemists and Distributors Association, we reaffirm our commitment to the people of the Valley, in close coordination with the Drug Department, we promise to work tirelessly to uproot drug addiction from our society.
​Following the rally, the SCDA team hosted a lunch program for the visiting NGOs and participants.
​Mr. Arshad Hussain Bhat, President of SCDA and JKCDA (Kashmir Province), expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all participants, the visiting NGOs, and the dedicated team from the Srinagar Department for making this program a resounding success.
