Representation by all District Heads of Kashmir Province on issues Pertaining to Pharmaceutical Trade

Date: 2nd February 2026

A delegation comprising the District Heads and representatives from all districts of the Kashmir Province had the honour of calling on the newly appointed Drug Controller for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Rajesh Angurana, at his office in Jammu on 2nd February 2026.

During the meeting, the delegation was accorded a patient and attentive hearing. An in-depth, detailed, and threadbare discussion was held on the various issues and challenges being faced by the pharmaceutical trade fraternity across the Union Territory in general, and the Kashmir Province in particular. The interaction proved to be both meaningful and constructive, reflecting a shared commitment towards strengthening the regulatory and operational framework of the pharmaceutical sector.

Mr. Rajesh Angurana graciously assured the delegation that the Drug Control Department would take all necessary and appropriate measures to safeguard, facilitate, and support the pharmaceutical trade in both the Kashmir and Jammu Provinces. The meeting was conducted in a cordial and positive atmosphere, underscoring mutual respect and cooperation. As a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, bouquets were presented to the Hon’ble Drug Controller by the District Heads. A comprehensive memorandum outlining the concerns and suggestions of the trade fraternity was also formally submitted for his kind consideration.

The delegation further takes this opportunity to place on record its sincere appreciation for Mr. Surinder Mohan Tickoo, Registrar, Jammu and Kashmir Pharmacy Council, for his commendable efforts in making the functioning of the Pharmacy Council more vibrant, transparent, and efficient. The dedicated contributions and valuable support extended by Mr. Mohit Goyal were also gratefully acknowledged and highly appreciated by the delegation.

We hereby assure the Drug Control Organization of our fullest cooperation in all matters concerning the ethical, lawful, and effective distribution of pharmaceuticals. We remain confident that under your able leadership and guidance, the issues highlighted by the delegation will receive due consideration and be addressed in a timely and judicious manner.
